Well it’s a mech so you’ll have to know about all the mech stuff unless you want to buy coils instead of make your own in which case you still need to know most of it. @BrotherBob seems to have a lot of handy links easily available if he happens to stop by this thread

Pretty big setup for first.

Agree. And while it's not necessarily a bad thing, there's a couple steps you jumped that you might want to go back and touch.

You'll need an ohm metre for putting together your builds. It might be useful to get a regulated mod so you can do that ohm metre stuff AND have something that lets you test your builds. Want to see what something is like at 3.7V, or 4.0V, or 4.2V? Having a regulated mod will let you test those things.

It's also useful to have something a bit smaller and portable. Not everyone needs one, and they're good with just throwing a tank on a regulated mod. But a small AiO or small kit (like a Tarot Nano) can also be a good investment.

And most importantly, everyone should always have a reliable back up in case their mod fails. There's no quicker way to getting back on cigarettes. It's also nice to have a mod to use while you're building on your other.

For these reasons, regardless of what kind of set up you want to pursue and have as your main; I always recommend starters get (1) a regulated mod and (2) a tank (pre-made coils or RTA).
