hi guys i,m a noob on here, i have been vaping now for 5 years and loving it, just wanting to know what you guys think of the istick 20w and 30w and the nautilus mini, I'm currently using the istick 20w with the nautilus mini as my all day vape set up to me the 30w is my back up as in my opinion the nautilus just doesn't seem to perform as well with the 30w. just my opinion what do you think.

Hi gavcook and welcome to the forum!

i don't have the 30 so I can't say anything about the mini's performance there. What do you mean by "doesn't seem to perform as well"??

I know on the 20, I get better wicking by sticking a pin in the four holes at the bottom of the coil head and wiggling it around a bit. It opens up the wick material in there a bit.

Could that be the trouble, or might it be that the 30 doesn't use mean regulation and therefore runs cooler than the 20 at the same setting?

Hope it helps and Happy Vaping!

What wattage/voltage setting are you using and what ohm coil?

From what I understand the istick 20W doesn't have the ability to step-down voltage but the istick 30W does. That means that if you have a wattage setting and coil that would require the voltage to be lower than the battery charge that it vapes at the battery charge like a mech mod.

So, for example, if you had your fully charged 20W and 30W both set to 9 watts and were using a 1.8ohm coil you would really be getting this:

20W = 4.2V
30W = 4.02V

So your 20W would hit harder until the battery charge dissipated below 4V at which point the wattage regulation would kick in. On a fresh battery charge with the 1.8ohm coil you would really be vaping at 9.8 watts regardless of the lower watt setting.

thanks i'll try them with the 30w at 11.5 watts instead of 10.5 which is what i use my 20w at and see how that compares. just seemed strange but i've only had the isticks for 2 month so they are new to me. and just received the 50w today cant wait to try that one out.

Gav,

I have both the 30w and the 50w, and one thing I have noticed is that, in my perception, the 30w seems to be just a tad bit hotter than the 50w. I will use the same tank (Nautilus Mini) and same juice on both with the voltage set the same (4.9V) and the vape seems to be a tad bit warmer and harsher on the 30w, like I am actually powering it 0.1V higher on the 30w. I got the 50w about 3 weeks ago and the 30w this past weekend.
