Hello all! I've been lurking for a while and thought I'd formally join the forum. Started vaping March 15 and haven't had a cig since March 30 so almost 2 months which is just unbelievable, was pack/day for over 20 years.I've been using an ego with a cartomizer which works ok but it is a pain to take time to fill 4 or 5 to get through the day so was thinking I'd like to try a tank just still not sure which one to try first so any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

Welcome to ECF, rosalita! Way to go on the 2 months, also! Really, any tank would suffice with the right carto in it. Also would depend on how much you want to spend on a tank or 2. If you are looking for a streamlined look, there are 3.5ml tanks that sit pretty flush with the body of the eGo. You could grab a tank sleeve, which would also hide the threads on the eGo if that is of concern to you. If you want a larger capacity, you can grab the bigger tanks. There is also a Vivi Nova from GotVapes.com which doesn't rely on a carto, rather, wicks to feed to the coil.

i just bought 50 cartos that should be here today and they should last me for a couple months so if I'd like to find a tank that would work with those. From what I saw on the gotvapes site, the stardust and vivi nova don't use cartos right?

Correct, they do not. What type of cartos did you get, black or stainless? That will help determine a tank type..

1. I've not personally tried the stardust but the reviews are quite mixed. Some report bad wicking problems and others love them, even so they are about $5 each which to me is a bit much.

2. The ultimate ce2 clearomizer is sort of tank-like in the sense that theres no polyfill. You can get about 1.5ml in each one and so 2 of these can normally take most people through a workday. These are 9.75 per pack at My Vapor Store (get the 2.4ohm).

3. The DCT tank uses a cartomizer inside of a tank. I've got one of these on order and when it arrives I'll let you know what I think.

Seeing as you have cartos you'd be looking at a tank. The other product, a Clearomizer has the coil, wick and storage area all in one. You could buy a glass tank (expensive) or a plastic tank. I prefer the Tanks - Mom and Pop Vapor Shop because it has a side hole/ screw for easy filling. Here's the glass tanks:

Understand your cartos will have to be punched/ have a hole in them.

Can you link us to the cartos you bought? I'm thinking you need an XL sized carto for use in a tank but there are people who know more than I do.

If you've got standard cartos, I don't think they make a tank for those. If you have the XLs though, you just need to punch a hole or two in them and then fit the tank over it. We can link you to a video for that.

If you do punch your own cartos the hole will be dependent on the PG/ VG ratio. I vape 60/ 40 PG/ VG and the one hole I punch is 2.5 mm. You could always buy a saddle valve to make it easier. Myself I just CAREFULLY use a nail and hammer while clamping the carto in a vise.
Saddle Valve good for about 50 holes before it has to be sharpened:
Shop Watts 1/4" Brass Self-Tapping Saddle Valve at Lowes.com

Edit: Yes we need to know the cartos you bought and they have to be stainless steel.
