Hi,
I've smoked for 55 years, at one time up to 100 a day but latterly 30. My son bought me a VIP starter pack and within 3 weeks I'd stopped the tobacco. (12th Sept 2013). Since then I've found that VIP cartos vary in quality, getting 1 or 2 naff ones in a pack.
I was reluctant to move to something more advanced as I have Parkinson's and my shakes make it difficult to fill clearomisers. However I bought some Evods and e-liquid from VapeEscape and managed to fill them using a syringe and blunt needle.
My favourite flavours are 7wolves (added HS menthol), Chocolate Caramel and Deluxe tobacco (all 18mg). I switch between them during the day.
Just had some good news, my daughter has just bought an Evod starter pack so hopefully that's the whole family off tobacco.
Let's hope the don't like it so ban it brigade don't get their way!

Congradulations for making the switch.

Seems like you are all setup for a successful vaping lifestyle.

If the syring and evod thing works for you please keep using them but here are some other ideas.

There are some bigger tanks out there like the protank that are very similar to the evod but have a bigger gap between the air channel and the body of the tank. Might be easier for you to fill. You could also use a needle bottle instead of a syringe. It would be like a syringe but you wouldn't have to extract the juice from a bottle every time you want to refill. Fill the needle bottle once and then refill your evod multiple times until the needle bottle is empty.

Glad to have you on board.

Keep on vaping!

Hello and welcome to ecf.

Big congrats on making the switch. I smoked for 40+ years very heavily at the end. I was so happy to finally get that ball and chain gone. Since then, everything in my life has improved. Please be sure you are drinking enough liquids. Staying hydrated is very important as ecigs will tend to dry you out quickly.

Good luck to you and your family.
Let us know if/when you have any questions. Or if you just want to hang out, its cool.. Lots of peeps here and there is always someone home here at ecf 24/7.

Hello & welcome Tony :) And very well done :D

You made a good choice buying from Vape Escape, IMHO they are one of the very best UK suppliers for quality items & customer service :) If you buy from them again, use discount code allabout for 10% off - it's a non affiliated code, so no one apart from the buyer benefits from it :)

You might also like to check out this list of other good UK e-cig & e-liquid vendors plus some more discount codes -

Welcome to ECF and Congrats on the quit!

Battling through and finding a way to fill the tanks is fabulous - many use things like that as a reason to say "meh, vaping is to hard" - good on you for powering through and getting the coffin nails out of your life!!!

Fingers crossed that your daughter loves it and stays with it!

Welcome to ECF Wingsnwheels! You’re gonna like it here. This is a very friendly helpful place. And a huge congratulations to you and yours on quitting cigarettes. :toast:

The syringe seems like a complicated way to go. Have you tried looking for a needle nose bottle cap? Here’s a link to one, many places carry them, and cheaper than this, so you know what it looks like. Needle Cap with Protective Cover - $1.49 : Heathers Heavenly Vapes, Top Quality Custom E-Liquids

Have you signed this petition? https://secure.avaaz.org/en/petitio...onic_cigarettes_from_excessive_EU_regulation/ Many of us, from around the world, have. They are at 24,250 signatures and hoping for 30,000. What the EU is seeking is underhanded and sneaky. Every signature counts.

I smoked for over 40 years and still can’t believe I have quit for almost nine months now. I still have a hard time believing the nightmare is over after so many decades. It’s a wonderful feeling isn’t it? :)

Hi All,
Thanks for the nice welcome.
In no particular order:-
I've signed the EU petition and contacted my MEP(s) and got useful replies from two of them.
I've upped my water intake by quite a lot after a bout of dehydration which made me feel quite ill.
Thanks for the headsup on the needle bottles but I manage quite well with the syringes, one has lasted me a long time and enables me to add some menthol to some of my flavours.
I have a Protank II which has some Rich Chocolate VG (18mg) in it I got from a different supplier. I don't like the flavour and get an oily aftertaste. I'll see if VapeEscape can do some VG samples.
Thanks for the VapeEscape code, I'll use it next time.
Best wishes
Tony

With the ongoing worries about the EU wanting to ban Electronic Cigarettes two things come to mind.
Firstly, why do we call them 'Cigarettes' when they are not. This, to me, is like a red rag to a bull. Anyone with an aversion to tobacco smoking picks up on the term and can't seem to seperate the two.
Secondly, the EU wants to ban them because they look like tobacco cigarettes and 'normalise smoking' but will restrict us to simple throwaway carts. Surely this is ridiculous as the simple e-cig with a throwaway cart does generally look like a tobacco cigarette. My set up looks more like Dr Who's sonic screwdriver than any cigarette.
It seems to me that there is more to this than public health. There is pressure from 'interested parties' keen to protect their profits, or keep the taxes rolling in. What about the future costs of tobacco related illness if many vapers, me included, return to tobacco if denied the choice of safer alternatives.
I dare say that most of this has been said elsewhere but I am temporarily restricted to this forum. It's just that the harder they make it for us the louder we need to shout! :w00t:

Yesterday (20 Dec) was my 100th day since I quit smoking. I did have one slip last week at my son's wedding when I tried a tobacco cig but, I'm glad to say, I hated it and dumped it. In mitigation I was surrounded by 5 others all smoking tobacco but consider it a chance catch to slip that was dropped. (Sorry all you non-cricket lovers).
I reckon I'm saving £10 a day so that's £1000 so far, less the £250 on e's. Sadly my wife seems to have 'disappeared' the savings on Christmas. Maybe notice a difference in the new year.
Wishing you all a Happy and Smokefree Christmas and a Healthier and Wealthier New Year.
