Hello and thanks for letting me register. My name is katie and am based in Liverpool UK:p
I hope I'm in the right place to post this- if not I apologise.
Ok, I'm a pack a day 50yo smoker. I bought a SmartCig starter pack
off ebay £24.99 and it tastes yuck- no vapour so it just feels like i'm sucking on a piece of plastic (which i am of course lol). The tobacco in the cartridge tastes terrible and stays with me for ages after. I'm disappointed but I wont give up- maybe i'll try a diferent one- any suggestions? I'm used to smoking Smooth Kingsize - 0.5mg
nicotine- so would want something similar in strength, length etc and maybe try to work my way down to zero.
Ive seen one on myeciigarette which looks promising, its called the 'super mini - it's only 84mm long which is pretty much what I'm smoking in real cigs. Has anyone tried this? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Katie

Katie,
Im not sure what Myecigarette looks like, but I am pretty sure all super mini's are the same, ie; two peice design, battery and atomized cartridges. I fell in love with the mini ( and I seem to be about the only one on this forum who has), because of its ease of use, it looks like a cigarette, fresh atomizers in every cart, and huge amounts of vapor on the exhale. Down side: limited battery life between charges.
If the one you are referring to is not a two peice design, I suggest looking into it. Now, as for the taste, it has been my experience that any tobacco flavor simply isnt going to taste like tobacco. You might be better with another flavor. I have found (depending on the supplier) that coffee flavor tends to actually taste more like traditional tobacco, and will grow on you after a day or two. And vanilla flavor is good to, nice and smooth.
If I am on the right track with what you are looking for, and can help you with further advice, let me know. Good luck!
My best,
-VP

The dse901 is a good quality beginers cig ...very inexpensive ...bettween $30.00-$40.00 shipped.

I believe she was asking for advice on Mini's... not the DSE901... lets give her advice on the right subject. ( I do like your avitar, a picture IS worth a thousand words. )
My best,

I will say this. Most super mini e-cigs do not work right. I have only been unhappy with them. In the begining of my vaping. I thought the super mini would be good, because they look like a analog. All my super mini or pitched somewere in a drawer. I hope to forget them. I almost gave up vaping, because of them.

This is what concerns me about new "vapers" getting a device with little power, batteries that last an hour or two, little throat hit and cartridges filled with foul tasting liquid. Using PV's (personal vaporizers) requires some experimentation with both the devices and the liquids. There are exceptions, but in general, the smaller the device and using prefilled cartridges, produce less than satisfactory results. I have used an 801, 901 and tried a mini and none of them compare in throat hit, consistency, vapor and long battery life (6-8 hours) with a device that provides a 1000mAh output battery along with good liquid to fill your carts yourself.

Hi again and thanks for all your replies. I'm still just as confused though. Looks like it's gonna be trial and error and be prepared to spend some cash till I find the one that suits grr.
V/Pete the one I was referring to is the 'NEW 84mm SUPER MINI E CIG'
(Same size as a regular cigarette) which can be seen on 'myecigarette.co.uk' site. I know I'm not allowed to post links so that's the best I can do to steer you in the right direction if you want a quick look. As you all may have guessed- I know zilch about ecigs, it's all gobbledygook to me lol. So looks like it's search search search till I find one that suits!

katie, i think youve fallen into the trap alot of people do when buying their first e cig, they go on ebay ,see theres quite a differance in price between the various ones on offer and buy the cheapest. Alot of the super minis look the same, but its like any product, theres good and bad and the only way to find out which is good is to do some research.
I found this forum a great help and also the reviews on youtube by scott (igetcha69) very useful.
I ended up buying a mirage from Mirage Cigarettes - Electronic Cigarette im still using it now 8 weeks on and really cant fault it. I also bought an evo from Electronic Cigarettes, Electric Cigarette, E-Cigarettes, E-Cig, E-Liquid
again, a great mini and cant fault this either. Both of these are reviewed by scott, here
YouTube - REVIEW OF THE MIRAGE ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE
and here
YouTube - REVIEW OF THE EVOlution ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE
as for the flavour,it may be best to buy some e liquid in a fruity flavour, try totaly wicked About The Totally Wicked E Liquid the cherry is nice.
keep at it, it will come good in the end.

I'm pretty new too, the first one we got was the Njoy the carts it came with was BAD! So when they were done we washed them out and by that time we had or DSE901 and two flavored nic oils now we drip into either of them and the taste is not like a real cig but with time I think it is better truly enjoy it now. So I agree it will take alittle time and experiment but the smoking experiance is very enjoyable now. With our trying of oils I've found that the richer flavors are the better ones like choc, cofee, butterscotch... now we are on to trying others to see if we like! Good luck enjoy.

I will throw my two cents in here. Like you, I started out with a super-mini-ecig. I did so because it wasn't very expensive and it looked like a 'real' cig. The first day I got it, I stopped doing analogs and haven't gone back (5 weeks ago). I quickly found though that I wanted more batter power and longer cartridge life. After reading this form, I ordered a 901 kit. The 901 was only about 5 dollars more than the super-mini. That gave me a touch longer battery life and a little more cart life. Then using the USB passthru at home, it wasn't a bad deal. However the batteries were still a pain. To solve the battery problem I bought a Scredriver (SD) from Trog. That solved that issue and life was better. Still longed for a little more cartridge life. Yesterday one of the users on here told me the Janty Dura carts fit the 901 and hold more juice, so I ordered some of them today. So if that is true, I think I am set and will be happy.

The advantages (at least that I see) from this setup is:
1. The carts are readily available, and can use any juice I want.
2. The atomizer is highly available and relatively cheap at 6 (the lowest I've found) dollars.
3. The SD solves the battery problem, can go all day without a battery change.
4. The rechargeable batteries for the SD are cheap. Like 8 bucks for 4, where as a normal 901 battery will cost you anywhere from 8-12 dollars a piece and don't last all that long, both in vape time, or life expectancy.

Best of luck!

I use Jany Dura's on my SD....you will be happy. Although I am dripping now, so it is not an issue either way

If you want a smaller e-cig, you should check out the Evo at intellicig.com. It's not quite as short as the 84mm one, but with the short batteries it comes close. I have a Pilot from PureSmoker, which is the same type as the Evo and it works great. Batteries last as long as my DSE901 and the cartridges last pretty long as well, given their size. The generic model number for these is M401 (long battery) and M402 (short battery).

as a reasonably new newbie i think i ve just sussed this vaping thing ...
strongly recomend the dse901 (most suppliers call ita mini cig)available in the uk from totally wicked(big stocks, great service)and the electronic cigarette.co.uk(likewise)
and after similar issues to the ones you describe the great people on this forum have all helped me get the best out of it...this is what i have learned!!:
prefilled carts dry out real quick and not much vapour and tasted too sweet(for my tastes)so now this is how we vape away happily as we used to smoke analogues::
buy totally wicked e juice extra strong an fill ya own carts(my method is 5 or 6 drops in cart and 2 straight into atomiser)
have just came up with my own cutting method/recipe that seems to work great for me an my wife:60-65%juice added to 25-30%glycerine and the rest cheap supermarket brand vodka!!!(vodka contains most of the other ingrediants the juice manufacturers use)
now tastes great, lots of vapour, nice throat hit all a vaper needs!!!
hope this helps...happy vaping
