I'm new to this form of "smoking", so any suggestions on how to get started would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like quit the habit but it's hard.

When i started I searched for a local store. I believe thats the best way to get started (that is if there is one near you). visiting in person and getting to learn everything hands on is the best tool.

If you dont have any stores near you, I suggest going and buying a starter kit a bit pricy (well kinda, nothing compared to having to buy packs of analogs) Try Vapor4Life IMO. I just started buying from them and i LOVE their kits~

Hi Walt,
You made the first descision so your on the right track. I smoked for 50 yrs. and haven't had one since I got my 510. But although the most referred model it might not be right for you. If I were you I would go to the ECF library and read The Wonderful World of vaping: An Illustrated Guide to E-cigs (Part 1 of 6) and find out the one for you or anything else you might want to know about ecigs. Thats what I thought to. Bought a e-gig at a kangaroo. I thought it would be good to be able to run down to the corner store. The employees know nothing, I've told them more about the device than they ever knew. Unless you find a local vendor that has knowledge and good prices buying locally is probably the worst way to go. Been there done that.

I have to agree local vendors trpically are not your best bet. Take the time and research it on the forum and you will be 100 times better off. Good luck

The same thing happened to me when i first saw them at BP around the corner. WHen i say a store, I mean a ECig STORE. about 15min from my house is a Store run by an ecig user who also mixes his own liquids and sells them. If you have a store that specializes in Ecigs thats where you wanna go. Gas stations and chain stores that sell them are just selling them for the quick $.

Asking lots of questions here is a great start. There are several popular e-cig models that many people here will recommend. The bottom line though is - you really don't need to spend a lot of money to find out if you enjoy vaping.

The initial cost of a starter kit can be about $35 dollars - add a few sample sized bottles of e-liquid to your order, and you'll be in good shape to at least give it a go.
