Welcome! Taking the first step is always hard. After talking to a friend that works at a vape shop for a while, I finally decided to try vaping. When I bought my setup, I quit smoking the same day. Going from 2 packs a day of analogs for 15 years, to vaping wasn't anywhere near as hard for me as I expected. I have been off cigs for over a month now, and only had one craving so far.

Every story is different, and some have it harder than others. There are a LOT of success stories on ECF. Some still smoked a few per day until they were used to vaping and some quit cold turkey.

Good luck to you and we are here to help!

Welcome to ECF!

I was a 2 pack a day smoker and stopped smoking the day I started vaping. So did my wife, daughter, and son. You have to decide to stop smoking and stick to your vaporiser/e-cigarette. Won't be long before you can't stand cigarettes.

I see you've found the Singapore sub-forum. Hope you get the information you need from your fellow countrymen.

Welcome to ECF. Vaping was the only thing that got me off of 40 years of cigs.

Where ya at? I do not recommend a cloud blowing setup for a beginning vaper. The Istick Basic in a nice beginner setup. Or the T18 or AIO if you like the tube mod style of gear.
A simple Ego style setup can get many off of the cigs.

Hi and welcome. It's individual, but it works for many people. I would suggest you buy an iStick 30 and an Aspire Nautilus tank. These can be bought online, or in most vape shops. For juice, the nicotine content you need will be determined by how much you smoke now. Flavors can be determined by going to a vape shop, most of whom have a juice tasting bar.

Hello and welcome to the forum @Cozer. Glad to have you here!:)

If you are interested in learning more about e-cigarettes (and all the parts and pieces) below are some blog posts by ECF member @Baditude that I highly recommend for someone new to vaping.
Here are a few more links from New Members Information <= Link covers many topics. Here are two of them:
Nicotine

A "general guideline" for nicotine concentration in e-liquid to the number of cigarettes smoked per day. If you are subohming (resistance under 1.0Ω) cut these nicotine levels by at least 50%.

06 mg = 10 cigarettes or less
12 mg = 20 cigarettes
18 mg = 30 cigarettes
24 mg = 40 cigarettes

eLiquid/Juice

PG = Propylene Glycol - the "flavor carrier" of e-liquid. A secondary source of "throat hit", but not as strong as the nicotine concentration. Some people have a sensitivity or even an allergy to PG. It's very thin.

VG = Vegetable Glycerin - the "vapor maker" of e-liquid. Used as a sweeter in many food sources, and also as a skin emollient. It's very thick. Often labeled just "Glycerine"

PG and VG are often used together in different ratios in e-liquid. For example, a 50/50 PG/VG ratio. Many juice vendors offer a range of different ratios as far as PG/VG.

Starting simple may allow you to learn the basics. The more effort/study I put into learning vaping, the more I enhanced the enjoyment.
I heard many story abt vape can help quit smoking is it true or just individual?
Many former smokers who wish to quit smoking find vaping a superior pastime, I know this to be true for me.

"For decades, smokers have been told to just use mediocre smoking cessation aids that are barely helpful, if that; mostly they just triggered cessation by those who were happy to simply quit unaided. Although smoking rates have declined substantially since people first learned about the hazards, they are now only slowly creeping down, and mostly because older smokers are dying, not quitting. For the vast majority of smokers who are not willing and able to just quit, electronic cigarettes offer them a satisfying, low-risk substitute, often the only path away from smoking other than dying."
