The forum keeps urging me to say "hi" to y'all, even though i've posted before. Guess i was supposed to do this before. Anyway, hello, fellow vapers!

A little about me: vaping to quit smoking... Succeeded for 3 months; but then my mom got ovarian cancer and that knocked me back to the stinkies... Trying again, not having much luck; trying nic salts with a pod this time on the recommendation of my local B&M vape shop owner. No joy yet. Am about to go back to my old Joyetech Ego AIO as that is what I used the first time, when I got my 3 months smoke-free... Hope this works because the cigs will kill me.

P.S. I did invest in a slightly more serious set-up: Innokin Coolfire IV TC100 that came boxed with the iSub V tank. Cannot use the latter because the top will NOT come off. (Cannot use the former either, because this is the only tank I have.) New out of the box. I've tried rubber gloves, a mouse pad, am now trying sticking it in the freezer. It is as immobile as if never intended to come off, yet that is what the directions say. No I don't have special pliers, nor anyone around who's stronger.. Yes, I have a tank band, for whatever good that's supposed to do. Am thinking of just buying a new tank. it's not an e-juice problem because I never filled it..because I could never get the tank top off to do so. Doesn't matter if the air flow is open or closed, or whether the coil is in or not, or whether the tank's attached to the mod or not. To all appearances, this thing got shipped with the top welded shut. There's really nothing to suggest it even SHOULD unscrew. It is as fixed in place as though it's not supposed to, but is an integrated part of the tank. That's why I had to double-check the directions.

P.P.S. Jeez, I sound cranky. Normally I am very mellow. I just spent 15 more minutes wrestling with this tank top, wearing my special nubbly rubber gloves, and its refusal to even pretend it actually comes off is temporarily irritating me. (And my carpal tunnel syndrome. = PAIN.) Any suggestions on a different, not-too-expensive, easier to use tank that will go with my mod are most welcome.

You don’t sound cranky at all to me. I’ve had tanks do the same thing. So frustrating! Sometimes they are really awful the first couple times, then they loosen up. If you do manage to get it open, lube all the threads with a little juice.

Meanwhile, I’d suggest buying a different atty. but good luck!

Have you tried pushing down on the top cap while trying to unscrew it? I have to do that with the B tank, same top fill system.

Just tried this, after retrieving the tank from the freezer and donning my special nubbly-gripper rubber gloves. No luck. I think I will just buy a new tank. This one is fast becoming an "I need a cigarette" trigger. LOL.

Good on you for recognizing the need for serious equipment. A lot of would-be vapers are skeptical about investing any money into the practice, and buy the cheapest equipment available. They usually end up disappointed. It seems like most equipment is built for people who sit at desks all day on a carpet or rubber mat. If you drop it it breaks; if you tilt it it leaks. As a person who works in a rough environment, you may be interested in the durable Geekvape Aegis series of mods, and I'd recommend a good anti-leak top-airflow tank to go with it.

Welcome to the friendly bunch :)

Just keep chipping away at it....each time you try it helps it to come off next time. The fridge is a good idea and then try filling with hand hot water...might work.

Non-conditional assistance is always given here......keep up the good work

Not sure what part of what bit is refusing to unscrew from what. Got pix?

Sounds like the two pieces that sandwich the glass are cross-threaded and won't come apart.

The top of the tank. Where the driptip sits. it is supposed to be removable, as that is how one (theoretically--never done it, as I have never gotten the tank top off) fills the tank. Mine feels as though it were somehow cast in one piece with the glass, as it is *utterly unmovable*. (Almost nothing to hold onto, either.)

Ah. They'd help even though I didn't buy it from them, do you think? I confess I didn't buy the pod from them, either. Poor store. They aren't allowed to sell e-juice, and I think the locked door--a la expensive jewelry stores--and 3 p.m. and all day weekend closing time (before the kiddies get out of high school/when they aren't in it anyway) that I assume are also required by state/local regs mean they have to way hike the price on their gear to stay open. I would have contributed to their cause just out of principle, but I'm on disability and can't actually afford to pay triple for hardware versus online.
Well, the children have to be protected.

I think they'd try to help, be useless, and then sell you a new one. Then again, maybe they have a pair of padded pliers.
From the pic the chimney is one piece with the top of the tank. If so, you can’t top fill it at all. You’d have to take off the glass and top piece as a unit and bottom fill it then hold everything upside down while screwing it back together.

This can be done of course. It’s means though that it’s not a top fill tank and never was.
