Cold will cause contraction (shrinkage) and should loosen it up.

Once you get it apart, I'd suggest adding a little Noaloxx to the threads. Work it into the threads with the rest of the tank attached. Then disassemble & wipe it off with a cloth. A microscopic layer will still be left behind to help lubricate the threads. Find this in the electrical section of most hardware stores.

Awesome Improvise, adapt, overcome Lesson for whole life. I cut the bejesus out of my hands trying the get that bottom section off the small tank section didn't even realize it till I saw blood dripping. I have many tools so I just stuck an Allen wrench in the hole to gain some leverage an off I came. The rag and pliers suggestion was because not everyone has a small allen wrench. Glad you go it off

I marked up my kayfun and nemesis pretty badly with a wrench through 2 layers of carefully placed cloth trying to separate them from a serious embrace (and sliced my finger too!).
You can also put a layer of electrical tape around your device(s) as well as using a cloth to add extra grip and scratch resistance. I've found cooling the inside part while warming the outside one can make one smaller and the other bigger which is an alternative to just freezing the whole thing. Anyone know of a cheaper alternative to Ideal Noalax or something similar available in Europe?? Ebay "Customs services" such are a scam....

That can happen, so far not on any of the ones I have had to use big tools on, but yes that can always happen. first suggestion is always use a small allen wrench in the vent hole. There is a mat I use at work that's on my bench, it permits you to use power tools like a router using the mat to hold the object being routed. Its a rubber type mat and stuff doesn't slide on it at all. Not sure where my company gets them from or what they are called but would probably be ideal for this situation. They grip like nothing else I have ever see. I use just a dab of E-liquid on my threads spread with a Q-tip or tissue does a good job, I also use it on my O rings.

Noaloxx is a anti-oxidant primarily with electrical conducting [improves] properties.
Perhaps a Google search might yield a Euro version. It's used everywhere electrical stuff is.
You could also try calling an electrician or Co.
Any electrical supply house should carry it.

Good luck.

I just google searched and found Loctite Silver. That's a product I remember from before I emigrated to the US. Would Johnson's Baby Oil do a similar job of easing threads?

A trick that works for me is wrapping a rubber band around the two stuck parts. Hasn't failed me yet.

I need to remember this. My nemesis locked up last night and I couldn't loosen any of the connections to separate it. After 20 minutes of trying and cursing every name under the sun, I used pliers and a rag to do it. Luckily I didn't scratch the tube at all
