Not sure if my other post went through, so here I go again :)

Is this an o.k. set up to purchase? It is a K1 Variable Voltage Starter Kit and it is not really expensive. ty

When the original Vamo came out, some of manufacturers called it a "Bamboo," this isn't it.

This is what I called a "semi-variable voltage" in that it has 4 setting choices: green light(3.5V); yellow light(3.7V); red light(3.9V); blue light(4.2V), but not the same range as a Twist or Spinner (3.2v to 4.8v) and it can't be set to anything besides the 4 options.

The reason I asked about back-up is because it's cute and inexpensive, but it's basically a cheap device from China. Who know what the quality will be? If you have a reliable set-up in the same class, like a JoyeTech Twist, Vision Spinner, iTaste vv, etc. it might be fun to play with.

ETA: Or if you want to go more advances than that, there are the ZMax, Vamo, SVD and similar devices.

Well I just did a quick search on the K1 you posted. 30 bucks US is what I found. Also found one that looks almost exactly like it called a L6. Most likely rebranded junk. Actually the K1 looks more like a mechanical than an adjustable.

Anyways... several good suggestions posted already. I your looking for something not too expensive I would suggest the MVP 2 for about 60 bucks or so for a starter kit. Or just bite the bullet and get a ProVari or REO VV and only cry once. :2c:

Bamboo Mod clone, which is a clone of the Vamo I believe, someone correct me if I'm wrong on that. However looking at its options its VV is in only 4 settings so not really a true VV. I'd suggest look at a Vamo, Zmax, SVD, MVP V2, heck even an SID before that K1

The Bamboo wasn't a clone of the Vamo, it was just another name at the time. You can't clone a Vamo, since it's iffy who the original manufacturer was. KDS supposedly introduced it, but several hit the market at the same time. Can you clone a clone that's the clone of a clone that was the original clone? Original Clone? Presenting the new Oxymoron Mod from FastTech! (It a clone.)

It's $14 and some change from FastTech.

The OP is asking a question about a whether or not a particular inexpensive starter kit is any good. She did not ask about high-end mods and was unfamiliar with the term "back-up."

In this situation I am shaking my head that a ProVari or a Reo have been suggested without asking any questions about her budget or how much she vapes. I thought Just get a ProVari was a thing of the past.

14 bucks for a VV!?

Well I am going to have to ponder that as I kick back during my 1000 dollar vacation on Mars.

That's why I asked if she had back-up. FastTech has lots of cheap cute e-cigs to play with and as long as you aren't expecting them to be your primary device or to last long, they can be fun.

Actually suggested a MPV. I was not the first to suggest a ProVari. Just a statement on where a lot of folks wind up anyways. :D

I know you weren't the first to suggest it, my statement was a general remark. She may very well end up with a ProVari or a Reo or a Futura or who knows what, but those suggestions are irrelevant to the OP without asking more questions about what she is looking for. Did the first poster to bring it up even hang around to follow up on the suggestion?

Lighting your girlfriends cigarette with a twenty dollar bill can be fun too but I wouldn't do it.

(I just could not resist.)

Nope, we have effectively hijacked this thread. Not what I really intended. Well, see you around Ocelot, have a good evening. I'm hitting the sack. Remind me to ask you if you actually own a Ocelot. Understand many folks do.
