Dead Rabbit 4 rda
1.jpg
Hellvape continues to bring out new products, and in this case, it's an atomizer, as is typical for them. We're talking about the Dead Rabbit 4 RDA. This time, it brings a special feature that I love, which is the possibility of building it as either a dual coil or a single coil. In addition to having a very striking and elegant aesthetic. Let's move on to the review to draw conclusions about this new product from Hellvape.

First of all, this review is possible thanks to Sourcemore. They have also provided me with a code (HDR4) that lowers the price to $22.59.

The atomizer comes in a rectangular box that combines orange with gold typography, as is typical for Hellvape. Also, I don't know if it's noticeable in the image, but the front part has small reliefs and shapes. Something I love is the little window to see the atomizer; I find it very elegant.

On the back, we find some features, the contents of the box, and some contact addresses, along with barcodes, QRs, warnings, and a scratch-off code to verify the product is not counterfeit.

Inside the box, we find:
  • 1* Dead Rabbit 4 rda
  • 2* Shoelace Cotton
  • 2* 0.37Ω Ni80 Fused Clapton
  • 1* BF Pin
  • 1* Accessory Bag
  • 1* 810 Metal Drip Tip
  • 1* 810 AG+ Drip Tip
  • 1* 510 Drip Tip Adapter
  • 1* User Manual
As we can see, the packaging comes fully loaded and ready to be used. Although I always recommend using high-quality, handcrafted coils if possible, as they elevate the vaping experience to a completely different level. Even so, for the review, the atomizer will be tested with what comes in the box to make the experience as direct as possible.

Atomizer

The atomizer can be separated into 4 distinct parts; from left to right, we can find:
  • The Drip Tip: In this case, the one I will be using is made of Stainless Steel. It is a fairly wide drip tip clearly focused on DL vaping. It feels quite comfortable on the lips and doesn't heat up excessively at all.
  • The Outer Airflow Ring: Next, we find the outer airflow ring. It features two slots on each side that serve to adjust the airflow. This is the piece that rotates to reveal or cover the air intake holes.
  • The Inner Airflow Cap: Moving on to the inner airflow cap, this is where the airflow system itself is displayed. In this case, it consists of 10 holes on each side. Later, I will explain how they can be closed or opened to let more air in or restrict it.
  • The Deck: Finally, we find the deck. It is a quite spacious deck and incredibly comfortable for building coils and wicking cotton. Remember that it can be built as either dual coil or single coil; I will personally focus on the single coil, which is where I have the most experience and what I use daily.
As you can see, the parts are really simple and easy to assemble and disassemble, which is perfect for cleaning when changing the cotton and keeping it fresh. I would swear that the parts of this atomizer combine Stainless Steel on the deck with some aluminum or zinc alloy on the airflow caps; if I’m wrong, please let someone correct me.

Here I show you the deck where we will install our coil, with the single-coil adapter already in place. As you can see, we have more than enough space to easily accommodate the coil and wick the cotton comfortably. The cotton must be tucked into the wells designed for it, which will collect the liquid we drip or feed up via squonk, allowing it to be absorbed by the cotton. The atomizer works wonderfully in squonk mode and hasn't given me a single issue.

In this same image, you can see that I have installed the coil included in the packaging, wicked it, and tucked the ends into the wells; after priming it, it is ready to vape.

I also want to take a moment to mention the size reduction of this atomizer compared to its little brother, the Dead Rabbit 3. It has gone from measuring 37.35mm in height to 32.8mm, which is a truly considerable reduction that is quite noticeable, especially if you have both and place them side by side.

Here I show you the airflow intake; as I mentioned before, the outer one used for adjustment consists of two wide slots on each side. The inner one is composed of two rows of five holes each. This allows us to adjust the airflow in pairs. It is a fairly simple but very effective airflow system.

Also, if you scroll up to the beginning of this review, you will be able to see a cross-section image of the atomizer. In it, it can be observed how the air inlets have a certain degree of inclination, directing the air to hit the center of the coil directly, which is optimal for maximizing flavor.

Finally, I’ll show you a picture of the atomizer mounted on a mod—in this case, the Warhammer BP (quite beaten up)—so you can get an idea of how it looks on a very small, single-battery mod.

Well, having said that, I want to clarify first of all that the coil read at 0.35Ω and the atomizer was used at 35W. Right, I’ll start by giving my conclusions regarding the airflow and its adjustment. As mentioned before, it is a relatively simple but very effective adjustment system. It is an atomizer that can perfectly be used for RDL since, if we close the intake, the air restriction is very noticeable. If we leave it open, I can state that it is quite an airy atomizer, perfect for DL lovers, like myself. The throat hit is quite notable, something I love about this atomizer, and I don't think I’m the only one.

As for the flavor, I had high expectations, and they have truly been met. It is an atomizer that, at least in single coil mode, provides a really good and potent flavor. This is appreciated, especially for those looking for good flavor rather than massive vapor production—although, regarding the latter, I must say it doesn't fall short at all.

Finally, regarding build materials, they maintain the level Hellvape has accustomed us to—a really good standard, made with durable materials. The finishes also feel really nice, and I love the mix of the matte tone with the shiny one, especially on this Silver model.
