HellVape is especially known for the production of rta and rda for the DL / RDL vape, its line of MTL atomizers begins to take shape with the introduction of the new Vertex rta 22mm which joins the previous 24mm MD RTA.

The new Vertex has the diameter reduced to 22mm and maintains the effective ultra adjustable system (turntable) already seen on the previous MD, there are 4 different configurations of the under-coil diffuser and 6 options for adjusting the air through the classic ring nut.
But let's see how it works and how it's done, good reading.

Vertex RTA color options at the moment are 4:
Matte Black, SS, Gunmetal, Black gold

Comes inside this fire red cardboard box, on which the characteristics, specifications and contents are reported.

By removing the lid we find the Vertex with the spare Parts alongside.

    First impressions:

Vertex RTA at first glance appears well built and finished, the considerable weight of 54gr fortifies this feeling of robustness. The Deck maintains the same air control system (turntable) of the previous MD MTL RTA, but some precautions have been taken to make this new Vertex even more "specialist" than the previous MD MTL RTA, in the course of the review we will discover some together interesting differences.

In the image below you can see the new Vertex MTL RTA (in 3.5ml and 2.0ml configuration) together with the 24mm MD MTL RTA.

Many lovers of the MTL vape do not consider it necessary that the diameter of the atomizers exceed 22mm, they do not even like "Bubble" tanks, this is acceptable for both a technical and aesthetic factor.

HellVape has wisely chosen a "slim" design and built its new Vertex RTA with a diameter of 22mm, among the spare parts included in the package there is no Bubble glass, but there is (for an excellent aesthetic result) a chamber / extender and a higher glass, capable of increasing its capacity from 2ml to 3.5ml.

In the image below (Exploded) you can see the proprietary Drip tip screwed directly to a 510 attachment heatsink, so if you wish you can take the heatsink off and install any 510 drip-tip.

The chamber / chimney can be removed and replaced according to the liquid capacity we want to obtain (2 or 3.5ML), included in the kit there is a tool that is used to unscrew the chamber / chimney.

The Vertex MTL RTA adopts a different refill system from the previous MD RTA that was "sliding".
In this case, to access the refill slots, the Top-cap must be unscrewed. Cleverly Hellvape has built the Top-cap in a very robust way, with a considerable thickness and weight, this allows easier opening, without any danger of deforming the metal, the seal is ensured by a large white silicone ring.
The two refueling slots have generous dimensions and are convenient for filling.

    13.jpg

The bell / chimney bears the Vertex writing on the outside.
    Comparison with MD RTA:
    Inner diameter: 14mm (MD 15mm)
    Depth: 9mm (MD 13mm)
Chimney outlet hole: 3mm (MD 4mm)
The internal conformation of the dome remains almost unchanged compared to the previous one of the MD RTA.

    14.jpg

The bottom of the Vertex MTL RTA has a slightly protruding gold-plated pin.

The AFC ring has a limit switch, its rotation is well braked and precise, each hole corresponds to a different diameter (0.8-1.0-1.2-1.4-1.6), the large slot measures 5.8x1.7mm.

Before regenerating the Vertex MTL RTA we need to ask ourselves what we want to achieve, the sub-coil disc (turntable) is held in place by an o'ring and offers three different selectable air passages, 1 hole 0.8mm, 3x0.8mm holes and a 1x3.2mm slot, then there is a fourth option, in fact by removing the disc it is possible to obtain an even more open and free vape.

The turrets are drilled for coil insertion, making both the build and the cutting of the legs really simple once the screws are tightened.

The buttonholes for cotton are not excessively large, however it is better to abound with cotton to avoid leaks, also because it is difficult to have "dry pulls", the transport of the liquid towards the coil is very effective.

    Conclusions:
Knowing Hellvape and noting many similarities with the excellent MD MTL RTA I had few doubts about the quality of this Vertex MTL RTA, no glued o'ring, quality gaskets, no oil smell, precise threads, no manufacturing imperfection.
The Top-Cap is one of the elements that struck me most, it is a solid and durable structure, surprisingly heavy, easy to screw / unscrew.
Other details such as; the perfect coupling of the under-coil rotating disc and the AFC ring, immediately made me think that the Vertex MTL RTA would also have a good yield.

On my two Vertex I used two slightly different settings, I opted to assemble one for pure mtl (SS), with the 1.0Ω coil, the 2ml tank and the 1x0.8mm sub-coil hole.
The other (Black-Gold) I set it for a more open mtl, with 3.5ml tank, 0.6Ω coil and 3x0.8mm sub-coil holes.

Build 0.6Ω: With this configuration I used a 50/50 self-produced liquid (Boss reserve) with 3mg / ml boost.
The coil has an effective value of 0.58Ω (Mod Aspire Finnix) I generally push it from 16 to 18W, I find an excellent balance by selecting the 1.6mm hole, with the 0.8mm hole for my taste the puff is too contrasted, however the delivery is fluid and regular with any adjustment, the 5.8x1.7mm slot amplifies the suction noise, but it is a "plus", it must be reduced to be able to use it in MTL. The hit in the throat above average, as the flavor, the sugary part is well balanced and not intrusive.

Build 1.0Ω: With this configuration I used a 50/50 self-produced liquid (Toasted Almond) with 3mg / ml boost.
The coil has an effective value of 0.98Ω (Mod Obs Cube) I generally push it from 10 to 14W, with the 0.8mm hole selected (to my taste) the puff is extremely contrasted, I prefer to use it with the 1.4 and 1.6 holes, also in this case the delivery is fluid and regular, the condensation under the drip-tip is non-existent, no annoying hiss to report. The hit in the throatt are present, bitter notes of almond amplified and pleasant.

I find no flaws for this atom, among the Chinese products of this range I consider it among the best, I recommend it especially because the regeneration is immediate it does not heat and does not lose liquid, compared to the MD, the hit in throat is slightly higher, the management of the air guaranteed by the under-coil disc is perfect for MTL use, the couplings, tolerances and threads are further improved.

    Thanks for reading this article
