Hey guys, I think I've found the manufacturer I definitely want to buy from next; Tatroe Mods. Most of you have probably heard of the big nasty and the T1 RDTA, but the former is a huge beautifully crafted chunk of metal that holds your 26650 battery (with a silky recessed button which I don't have), and the latter is an optional RDA with a cool tank reservoir mounted above it, in which you can manually drip on your coils one drop at a time. To be honest one of the main reasons I like Tatroe mods is they are a high quality U.S.A seller, and you can tell that just from the reviews and pictures of their workmanship. I don't have an RBA that really does what I want to, even with the best of setups. Or a mech mod with a firing switch I don't have to try to push, they are all pretty "sticky" (besides the one I always use, my copper JDTech stingray), I'm sure you know what I mean. I haven't bought much from any U.S. sellers other than my brass monkee RDA, and that happens to be my favorite RDA, so I'm starting to see a pattern here.

-I'd like to hear about anyones experience with their 26650 mods, and whether they noticed a magical difference or not. To tell the truth, I'm happy with my 3 sony vtc4's, they are perfectly adequate as long as I charge every other night, so I'm not sure if it'll be frugal (what's that mean lol). Half the reason I'm buying it is for the nice heavy, and easy to fire button, the battery life is just a plus, however I have to buy a new charger too :cries:.

-I just think the T1 is cool, it costs slightly less, it's kinda "one of a kind", but I do have to wait until the end of the month before it even ships out, whereas the big nasty can ship tomorrow, I should be patient and calculated *deep breathe*. It would look great on all of my mechs/APV, and I could drip while I drive, and have that fine American quality.

-What do y'all think? I'm biting my nails here, I've never been wanting two things so evenly.

I'll have both eventually, but I'm a college student with a very precise budget. I have about a $400 "pleasure budget" every month, but that includes food and anything else life throws at me. So I'm saving up :p, I try to limit my e-cig spending to one ridiculous item per paycheck lol, I looove vaping, but there are more important things.

-I'm thinking the RTA is what I'll end up going with although I'll hate waiting a month for it to ship, but Fast-tech's trained my patience in that reguard

I know the feeling about the college budget. You could just go spend $30 on ramen and then you'll have enough food for two months though!

lol I'd pay for ramen even if it wasn't cheap, it's truly the lifeblood of college students, fast, flavorful, and full of cheap carbs :p. You know you do make a good point, they'd look awesome together too, I think I'll order both since the t1 won't be charged until next paycheck anyway. Thanks for the encouragement :D.

I dont know anything about the Big Nasty, I do own a Dreadnaut 26650 mod, there is nothing magical about it. I do love it though, huge deck to build coils on, big, big, juice well and lots of power. Plus with over a pound of SS and Brass if someone messes with me........

The dreadnaught's pretty hardcore, I know I'd like a heavy setup.

I think Fasttech has the Hades clone and I know there is a 26650 Sting ray clone coming out soon

WHAAT?! That's awesome, I'll have to get that stingray for sure. I totally forgot about the hades clone, I think I'll get that and see how I like the battery experience first, and go with the T1 (I've already ordered it lol).

The Big Nasty is a good mod, I am on my second one at the moment because a button seized on my previous one and the return was smooth. The new one has been improved as the throw is slightly shorter making the button less prone to sticking. The i2 Charger can charge the 26650 battery so if you already have that you are golden. Of all of my mods I favor my Big Nasty. I like the T1 but I am such a dripper warm vaper that I much rather stick to RDA's. I do not think I can get the vapor production with the T1 as with a standard drilled out dripper.

That's cool they shortened the throw, literally half the reason I'm buying it is because I hear it's good quality (and a nice, recessed button), the other half is the 26650 capability. Does it come with a charger? That's awesome if it does, I was thinking I'd need to drop around $200 for the whole setup (battery and charger too).

-That's my one gripe with the t1 is the long canal through the tank that the vapor has to travel through, it steals heat and probably condenses like 1% of the vapor. I've never really been able to feel heat from an RDA, and I do build some hot coils, it may be because I usually have a single or combined airhole of 1/8th :p but it's never been like "warm coffee warm" if you get what I mean. We'll see :D, I'm hoping it doesn't condense alot in the tank pipe, but I'm thinking for me liking a neutral temp vape I'll be in vape heaven for a while just for the convenience, maybe I can throw some dual 24 gauge coils in there with my hades clone and see if I can get her super vaping, I'm thinking the canal will turn into a giant "drip tip" so I can increase the (usually too hot) heat and vapor production. I may have to try eko-wool on that one :p

I am another warm vapor lover, and dripper only. The heat of vapor has to do with 1. your airflow (you already mentioned oyu have really large AF holes so I doubt youll be able to get warm vapor with that top cap.. (itd have to be ~.25 ohm coil or below) but if you have another top cap with airflow control or smaller airflow holes that would be your best option to get a warm vape.. It also has to do with the size of the chamber you are vaping with.. for example if you have a recessed chamber the vape should be warmer.. given your airflow isnt fully bored out.. combine these two things and you should have a really nice hot vape

Thanks for the advice man, yeah that's one thing I've always struggled with is getting that perfect warm vape. My main brass monkee cap does have an adjustable airflow and I'll start experimenting on not having it wide open. One day I drilled out the holes significantly larger (1/8th) than what was previously on it, and the vapor amount itself (not the flavor, or temperature) increased like crazy. Since then I haven't done any more experimenting other than slightly lowering the gauge of bore, although I should because I haven't tried the inbetween and I might like it! (The only reason I haven't gone back to smaller yet is because of the noticabley less vapor, since I know the more temperature change (hot to cold) the more of the hot spurting liquid gets converted to vapor I've always had it in my head that it's more efficient this way, and less juice gets spurted on the walls of the chamber, however juice is cheap so who cares. I will definitely admit that smaller airholes make much denser vapor, just less of it, which I could see me liking. I'm one of those "if it works great don't fix it" kinda people but those people never find the greener grass on the other side :p.

I'm also using mainly 28 gauge at the moment, I think a good way to reach the best of both worlds is to get a much thicker wire like 24 or even 22 gauge, alot of people have good hot vapes even with 1/8th airholes on their caps. I'm thinking about building a .3 ohm (my favorite dual coil ohm) like you suggested, as soon as my 24 gauge comes in the mail!
