Hi guys, so I'm a really new vaper (trying to stay off the cancer stick habit), and I have a few questions; I'd really appreciate if I can get answers so here goes:

1) What is the difference between a coil, wicks and cotton?

2) I vape a lot during the day, using the iTaste MVP 3.0 Pro, my juice is 75 VG and 25 PG, after a couple days when I put my first coil, the taste of the juice decreased, now I've been vaping it for a week and it tastes like nothing, how often do I change the coil? And do I change the wick and cotton too? If so for how often?

3) What are your guys' tips to a beginner vaper? Thank you so much, have a great day.

Specifically, the coil is the metal resistance wire that heats up when you fire your mod for vaping.

Cotton IS wicking material, but it is only one of many types. There is rayon wicking, organic cotton wicking, ceramic wicking, Japanese organic cotton wicking and more.

What wicking does, is literally "wicks" your e juice from your reservoir tank to (and through) your coil, and then when you fire your mod the coil heats and vaporizes the e liquid.

In a tank that is not rebuildable, the coil (otherwise called your replacement atomizer) contains both the coil and the wicking.. so all you have to do is buy more coils and attach them (usually by screwing them into) your tank.

Do you know what tank you have? Is this the tank that came with your mod? Innokin iSub G Tank - 4.5ml Capacity, 0.5ohm Organic Cotton Coils

If so, if that's what you have, then you will need these replacement coils here:
Replacement Coil-Atomizer Head for Innokin iSub Tank (you can buy them at any vape store which carries them)

Since the isub g came with .5 ohm coils, you will want that resistance again if that is where you are happy vaping. These coils come in either Japanese cotton wicking, (KAL BVC .5 ohm) or with ceramic wicking (Ceramic BVC .5 ohm) you can try both in order to decide which coil (wicking material) you like best. :)

With drop in coils, I change mine anywhere from every 4-7 days, depending on the type of juice I'm using... some juices are harder on coils than others, really sweet juice is harder on coils than other types.. so, some juices can cause your coil to be toast after only a couple days, other times and with other juices your coil might last a couple weeks.

And yes, a difference in taste is how you know it's time to change your coil. :)

Unfortunately I do not know what it's called as I got it from a friend as a gift, however, it does look a little bit like it, it's a more rounded tank.

But thank you so much for helping me, I have a peach with Greek vanilla yoghurt juice, that's sweet hence why my coil burned out after a couple of days, glad I'm not the only one who's coil burns out so often ahaha. Also, I'm thinking that it burnt out in about 3 days (I could tell because of a decline in flavour) because when I got it, I was vaping It at 60w... Could that be why it burned out so quickly? After a couple of days I figured out how to decrease the wattage and now it doesn't taste that burnt, in exchange there's close to 0 flavour but if I chain vape a lot with it it will taste horrible.

Definitely get you some new coils then.. it's nothing to change them.. here is a video where at the 4 minute mark you can see how he gets to the coil and removes it.. once you have the old coil out, just put the new one in, in its place and then you can fill your tank and prime your coil before vaping.

With a .5 ohm coil you should start your wattage at 20 watts, then go up from there.. if you get a dry hit you've gone too far and you will want to back up a bit. Normally on a .5 ohm coil, depending on your juice etc., you will want to be vaping somewhere between 20-40 watts. Always best to start low, then go up til you find the coils sweet spot.

Pre-made atomizer heads don't 'burn out', they gunk up with residue around the coil and the cotton. The sooner you move to a rebuildable system like an RTA (Rebuildable Tank Atomizer) the better. Then you can just replace the cotton wicking and clean the coil. Better performance and many many times cheaper.
