help a DIY virgin

Ok I know this has been asked a hundred times I am sure, I am waiting on my supplies to arrive to take the DIY plunge, my question is this, pg/vg ratio I like a lot of vape with a moderate throat hit, I was thinking of 75vg 25pg to start any recommendations.

Hi Meatcutter, 75vg will give you lots of vapor but you may have trouble with dry hits in your clearomizers or whatever. You could consider trying a tiny batch of 50/50 and see how that works for you. Some people have wicking issues with high vg juice. It's all about experimentation to find out what you like which is why the experienced mixers on this forum advise making very small batches without the nic until you're happy with the recipe. I use 80 VG/20 PG and love it in my rebuildables, loads of vapor and good TH along with great flavor. It worked well in cartos too but not so in clearos. It really depends on what you are using. Good luck, have fun and remember that DIY (like vaping) is a journey, not a destination.

TH depends on nic level, ratio, type of flavor, voltage, atomizer, and additives.

Examples-
24mg+/mL, 100%PG, mint flavor, 6volts, RBA, menthol/vinegar- Very high throat hit
8mg/mL, 100%VG, strawberry flavor, 3.0volts, cartomizer, ethyl maltol- Very low throat hit
18mg/mL, 50/50, vanilla, 3.8-4.5volts, Clearomizer, sour, EM- Medium throat hit.

I find 30%VG gives good vapor, but I prefer to vape at 60/40 PG/VG
