Boy, we're getting out there here. I'm not that great a chemist. Do we have a chemist here?

Nicotine is miscible in water, right? I think I'd try getting it into a water solution (warm, but below 95deg F), evaporate off the water, then use the solvent properties of PG to release the nicotine. I have NO idea what else is in snuff that might precipitate... And I doubt I'm capable of calculating the dosing without a better lab then I have at the moment...

Interesting thought exercise. From a practical stance, maybe I can invade a friend's college lab. He's the Chem department chair...

What the heck is SNUS and VG???? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got out of bed and have to get ready for work - forgot I left this page open last night.

I feel like such a newbie!!!! I don't know what hardly any of the acronomyns are and terminology.

Well, I don't smoke or vape during the day, haven't in years, I am purely an after 5:00 girl so I am sure I will be whining later on about my nearly empty carts and my miserable cold.

Thank you all so much again for your help!!!!!!!!!!! Just being part of this forum is fabulous!!!! I love it here - everyone seems so nice.

I am Cheryl by the way. 41 year old mom of 2 boys, 3 dogs and 1 husband. Ha Ha!!!! I have been smoking since I was 15 at various levels except when I was pregnant then none! I guess if I can make it 40 weeks, twice, I can make it another day or two!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talk to you all later!!! :)

Hmm neat idea, soaking Snus in VG and vaping it!

Hmmmm...this got me thinking. I am actually very well stocked up, in fact I purchased A LOT of juice from V4L with the SuperSunday and Valentines sales in the last two weeks, (I'm probably partially at fault for them being low on juice sorry!) So I might not have to resort to this for quite some time........

However, I did hear about the USP VG and after some effort finally found some (was looking in pharmaceuticals instead of skin care!) So I now have a bottle of that on hand. I'd bet that in an emergency (as in this case) it would be possible to just vape the VG. No nic delivery with this method, (but I am ready to go down to 0 nic anyway) ...and just having the mechanics of vaping might be enough for some in a pinch??

I wonder if you could even go so far as to add some flavoring, maybe some vanilla extract from the grocery store? I'm too much of a chicken to try it myself ~ and don't recommend anyone be the first to try ....after all, I'm also no chemist and don't know the possible negative side effects of vaping extract??

Maybe someone out there with some knowledge and insight could offer more info.

**just another hint in case someone stumbles on this at a later date and has a difficult time finding USP VG like silly ole me ~ I checked 4 pharmacies and couldn't find it ~ finally found it at my local health food market ~ however LATER I saw it right there @ Wal-mart where I had originally started (but couldn't find because I was looking in wrong spot) It was kept near the benadryl/hydrocortizone/calydryl lotions it is in a clear bottle with a white wrapper and MAKE SURE you buy the USP VG - (they also sell a product called Liquid Glycerin which is a suppository and not what you are looking for ~ which is what all the pharmacy employees kept directing me too when I asked for Glycerin!)***

I can tell you that I did try the extract idea and there is the flavor, but you are vaping ethanol which may not be the best thing to do, not sure. I personally am doing a little experiment tonight with some vanilla e-liquid with some concentrated blueberrry coffee syrup that I purchased from Dunkin Doughnuts, so I'll post how that turns out. The syrups may be too thick, who knows, gonna try anyway.

I love the snus idea though if you're in a pinch. I recently went through the running out thing and eventually found a tobacco shop to get me by until my now 2 orders arrive.

Well, I am home from work and already vaping. Yikes........it's before 5:00!!!!

So, I stopped at the ONE tobacco shop/cigar store that is open on a Sunday in CV and asked the guy if they sell any e-cigs. He mumbled something about they did have one but that is not what they are about.....okay then............

I don't think I am going to mess around try to fill carts with drugstore stuff.....i will just try to make these last few carts last............

Happy V-Day!!!!

OK Cheryl, you can vape just Glycerin..which is basicly the same as Vegetable glycerin (V.G.) but thicker. You may need to thin it down a tad by adding vodka (a drop or so or distilled water.)
I don't reccomend kitchen flavors. Most contain sugar or other ingrediants like oil..both are atty killers. Read the label. But if you do try them..just a drop will do in a at least 10 to 20 drops of glycerin, V.G. or P.G.
Check your craft, kitchen stores or party stores (anywhere they sell cake products) for Lorann's candy flavorings. Dispite the name they contail NO sugar. A few do contain oil..but just a few. Again check the label.

While you will get no Nic, if you are refilling a used carto there may be enough nic left over to get you thru.
Do not vape your carto to the burny nasty end..if you do, you can just throw it out when your new stuff comes because you are NEVER getting the burny taste out.

Wait, so you're saying I can buy VG at Wal-Mart, mix in a drop or two of Lorann flavor, and refill my carts with it and vape it? Even with no nicotine, that would be a fantastic way to get me through until my order arrives.

Am I reading this correctly?
