I'm using a naughty mini with 1.8ohm coils. I have found it nice around 12.5w (4.7v) maybe 15w (5.1v)with some juice.
I could be wrong but i seam to remember reading that the istick can put out more power than the screen says. I'm sure more experienced people may pop in with views on this.
If i was you i would stick at the 4.6v setting or maybe try a pack of the 1.6 ohm coils see if that's any better for you.

Exactly right my egg, flour and milk based savory baked good friend.

The iStick is overpowered and will be delivering much more voltage and / or wattage than is displayed on the screen. For an equivalency chart go to this thread

Add to that, the method of priming the coils, the draw technique and even the exact batch of coils you have will all make a difference to your experience compared to others. I can barely vape my Nautilus at 11 watts on my iStick as well - it doesn't bother me that much as the vape is decent.

I wouldn't worry about it, there are so many variables with vaping, just try to find a vape that works for you.

If you are adamant about getting more out of the Nautilus, there are ways, but it might mean drilling the air holes or other such drastic measures.

OP, why do you want to go beyond 4.6V? Are you finding the flavour or vapour lacking in some way?

I do find that there is a break-in period with these coils. If you try to use it at too high a voltage too soon, you're more likely to get a burnt hit. Start low and work your way up gradually. And, yes, the iStick will hit hotter than other setups so that also needs to be taken into consideration.

I always adjust mine for flavour and ignore what the numbers say.

Fisher90. 4.6 volts on an iStick is closer to 5.3-5.6 volts. That's why you getting burnt hits. Problem is worse if you use watts instead of volts with it.

IStick is a great compact device but you must run it lower than what you see others using on other devices.

I run mine at 4.0-4.2 volts with the 1.9 nautilus heads. On my more accurate devices I run it at 5.1. Taste is the same even though volts are way different.

I do prime it. Ill put 2-3 drops in it. Let it sit for about 30 min. And start low. But still once i hit the 4.6 volt area it fried. I just see some people go up to 15 watts. I cant go beyond 10 without damaging my coil

The iStick is calibrated in mean voltage, everything else out there is calibrated in root-mean-square. Put your iStick in voltage mode, then use this formula:

voltage (mean) X 5.8 / Ω = Watts (rms)

So in your case:
4.6 X 5.8 / 1.8 = 14.82 watts

Looking at the formula, you are vaping at 15 watts.

Sounds to me... you're more concerned with the numbers and what other people run their devices at than what is the quality of your vapor production... apologize if I'm mistaken.

Is your vapor production and flavor good at 4.0 volts?

If so, why do you want to move up to 4.6v?

Just because the speedometer in my car goes up to 120 MPH doesn't mean that's a safe speed to operate in... arriving safely and comfortably at my destination is more important than achieving a speed record...
