I made a new juice w/ flavors that have been used before so I was certain it would be OK & blend good. Made 10 ml w/ nic let it sit for 3 days before trying. Isn't bad, just needs more flavor. Can I add more flavor to it now or should I start all over?
10 ml all TFA Flavors @ 18 mg nic
10% Hawaiian
6% Apple
2% Sweet Raspberry
No E. M. wondering if that would help

I am sure more experienced DIY'ers will help ya with this issue. I personally would think that the flavors you are using do not require a bunch of steep time. My fruits are pretty much shake and vape for me. Some of the tobaccos and other darker flavorings tend to take a bit of time to get the full benefit.

I have added additional flavoring lots of times if I wanted something to be stronger. No problems. Just make sure you add just a tiny bit at a time til you make your taste buds dance. To high of a percentage of flavorings tend to make the juice worse for me. Everyone's different though.

Good luck to ya and have fun with it. :)

It can depend on the flavor you are adding, sweeteners are a little different. Adding a little goes a long way and typically don't need to steep, there can be a slight change after a day or so.

Other flavors will add a steep time, but take into consideration what we refer to as seed steeping.

Because you have a juice that had steeped for a while, it should not take as long to re-steep.

Seed steeping is taking 1ml of older juice and adding new juice of the exact same recipe. This can shorten steep time.

Yes you can add more flavor if you think it's weak on the flavoring. I think it's always better to start on the low end and add more if needed. As for how much more to steep I'm the wrong person to ask, but here goes. I think steeping is really overated for the most part here. My mixes are usually good to go from the start (shake and vape). Not saying some don't improve marginally tank after tank. If they do, I consider that a bonus.

I constantly read people say their mixes are unvapable when they make them and then magically turn great after steeping, cooking in a crockpot, vibrated in a UC, set under a full moon at high tide, etc  Not sure what their doing to their mixes, but I'm glad I'm not doing it to mine :) . I've made a few unvapable and everyone was still bad a week later, month later, and I just recently tried a few that are 6 months old. Guess what I still don't like them. I've found the only magic is changing the recipe when I make something that I think is unvapable after mixing. Good luck!

Cheers,
Steve

Edit Before anyone flips out, there are always exceptions. For instance, I make a cheesecake recipe that I think is better after a few days, but I don't think it's unvapable after mixing.

Steeping really depends heavily on the flavors used and many other factors

Cream flavors benefit heavily from a 1 to 4 days of steeping

Cigarette flavors benefit from 1 to 4 weeks of steeping.

Fruit Flavors don't need a long steep,, like maybe a day.
They will taste better after a day or 2.

The process to steep can be slightly objective, however
There are rules....

If it is a highly alcohol infused flavor profile, or chemically
Leave the lid and topper off and open in a slightly airy but dark location
You will need to shake it every day or several times a day and do this for 1 or 2 days
not more than that.

then close it up and leave it sit in the dark for a 2 days to 4 weeks (again, depending on the flavors used)

Ultra Sonic Cleaners do not work
Don't care what many say, it doesn't work. I have tried it, it's a pain in the .... as well.
You are not going to get a 2 to 4 week steep in a few hours

You can heat juice in hot water to about 140 degrees with the lid off
This can help cook off bad oders (alcohol or chem smells)

A proper steep depending on the flavors used, does in fact make a difference.

+1 this! Had a raspberry lemonade I made a few weeks ago, let it steep and last night opened it and the "alcohol smell" about knocked me over. Left the cap off overnight and this morning, smell gone. Loaded a tank and all I can taste is the flavors!!!

Plus one and a big ole "I agree"

Wingsfan, we have always seen eye to eye about our DIY (wow that rhymed)....

With a very few exceptions (Custards, tobaccos, chocolat creamy stuff), steeping is overrated and not needed.

If it aint right when your done mixing, start again or add to it....
