Ive got two Tobeco Kayfun 4 clones that I haven't touched in almost 3 years that have just been sitting here. I wanted to clean them up and put them away but the damn things are stuck together and I cant for the life of me get the base unscrewed from the tank!!

When I first cleaned them, they DID still have some juice thats been sitting in them this whole time. Not alot but there was still a few puffs left in each one. My Cthulhu V2, Kayfun 5, and even the third KF4 I was putting up came apart just fine, but those two will not budge. I let all of them soak in a bowl of Dawn for like 2 days, just in case anything was crusted inside it thinking maybe the soap would work its way in there and eat up and dried up juice or anything, but nope. They've been sitting here for like a month and no matter what I can not get them open! And yep, I did try the rubber band and pliers trick several times but nada. Its been awhile but Im pretty sure the juice control on them is wide open so they should just come apart.

Any tips or ideas to try next? Im sad I broke my first glass tank in 4 years of vaping too. When I took the top off one of the silver KF4s to dump it out, the whole top section unscrewed instead of just the top cap, and like an idiot I forgot 'oh yeah thats what holds the tank together'. Turned it to dump out and snap. There went the little glass section in the sink and broke heh.

I had this problem when resurrecting a Goblin v2 last year.

You need a solvent. I used isopropyl and soaked the whole tank overnight.

You need heat next. I brought a 2 qt pot of water to a rolling boil and put the whole thing the pot--Pyrex glass and all. Boiled a minute and fished it out.

I then used two sets of channel locks to get it open. O-rings did not survive the ordeal.

Awesome Ill give these all a shot. I was thinking alcohol but haven't tried that yet, just hot water and dish soap, but I bet alcohol will do it. Guess if it comes down to it and I have to go Coastal Cowboys route, Ive still got all the spare parts and o-rings for all 4 of my KF4s so no worries there..

Take the atty to the beach. Fill a Big Gulp cup with sand and set the atty in 1/2 way. At the bottom, put in an M80. Light the M80 and shove the whole set up top down into the sand. The resulting shock wave should loosen the parts. Bring a catchers mitt in case of launch.

Hey everybody VICTORY! Just wanted to come back and say thanks again for all the suggestions. I left the blue one in the freezer all day yesterday just to see if that easy fix would do it but nope, still didn't budge. Then I looked at the one that I did get apart and watched how the juice control worked, and it turned out I was wrong and it was backwards from what I thought so the whole time I was closing it instead of opening it! The stainless one still wouldn't come apart though, and the blue one I must have turned it too much, it was stuck closed. I put the base/chimney assembly for each one in a shot glass and filled it with enough 91% iso alcohol to make sure it would seep into the juice holes (even took out the 510 in the blue one so it could come in through the bottom). A couple hours later, the steel one came right apart (and the whole coil and wick broke at the legs and fell out on the floor hah). Blue ones been in all day, just picked it up now and still couldn't get the JFC to budge so wrapped the paper towel I was using to soak up the alcohol coming out of it, grabbed them pliers and felt it move!!!! Once I opened the juice control, I put the pliers on the airflow ring and felt it budge FINALLY. Yeah the threads in them are ugly in spots so it must have been the juice I left in them gunking it up (that stuff was pretty dark brown when I dumped them and it was my old unflavored mix even). At least their apart now and I can put them away haha.

Disclaimer: The Humane Society monitored this operation and no o-rings were hurt during this procedure. :D

O.M.F.G!!!! Only I could screw a perfect ending up haha. I just went to dump the shot glasses out in the sink and heard a funny sound when I poured one out AND FORGOT THE BLUE ONES 510 PIN WAS STILL SOAKING IN IT!!!!!! Oh well good thing I don't use these anymore. Maybe I can steal one out of the KF Lites I have or one of the like 6 Derringers I have heh.
