I've been using a joye 510 for the last few years and I'm looking to upgrade to something ego style with a bigger tank.

I've been looking at either the evod or evod 2. I see the difference is the single and dual coil systems between the two. I've read the differences between the two, but still not sure which one to give a shot anyone have any recommendations?

Also, it's really not easy finding someone who has evod 2 starter kits in stock. The evods are much easier to find since they've been around so much longer. I'd prefer genuine parts, so if anyone has any recommendations where to order, I'd appreciate that too.

My advice:

- Joye eGo-c upgrade batteries. See:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ego-type-models/519902-types-joyetech-ego-batteries.html

- Kanger T3S clearomizers - the capacity is greater than the evods and in my experience have less problems (leaking, draw).

I don't recommend dual coils on Joye eGo batts. See:

I get my eGo-c upgrade batts at cignot.com and heaven gifts - I know they're Joye, but other vendors carry Joye batts too. You'll need an eGo charger as well.

I get my T3S clearos at cignot, Good prophets and heaven gifts.

I like the 1.8ohm coil for strong flavors and the 2.2 ohm coil for lighter flavors. The 2.4-2.6 ohm coil is too light for me. I use the Joye eGo-c upgrade batts in 'constant mode' mostly - 3.4 Volts, occasionally using the standard curve mode, so I'm vaping between @5.5-8.0 Watts.

Thanks for the detailed response.

Why the ego-c battery instead of the ego-t? Is the ego-t not interchangeable with kanger parts and the ego-c is?

I was a little confused about how the ohms work. I typically get my juice from ahlusion and get a lot of the fruity or desert type juices (blueberry cheesecake, papaya, etc). How many ohms would you recommend?

Joye eGo-c has upgraded short and charge protection over the eGo-t. The eGo-t will fit those clearomizers and the eGo-t upgrade as well as the eGo-c and eGo-c upgrade batts were a result of an eGo-t exploding from charging - documented here in this forum much earlier.... but the eGo-c's (Joye only) have the top short and charge protection in Joye batts. I've switched to all eGo-c upgrades over time. I still don't leave batts on the charger when I'm gone, but I've never had them even get warm. Just cautious and a $17 batt is easier to replace than some of my other stuff :)

On electronics, it's the Watts that is most important with volts and ohms only being part of the formula. For a really simplistic explanation, see:

 (see the other answers for more details).

Love ahlusion's JG blend and "Kent's Blend" :) ... but those are stronger flavors so I use the 1.8 ohm coil. For the ones you mention, the 2.2 ohm coil would work well but that's with the Joye eGo-c upgrade in constant mode (white led button mode). If you're using a 3.7 volt batt that isn't so regulated - ie. it is a full 3.7 Volts, then perhaps the 2.4-2.6 ohm coil would be ok. The 1.8 ohm coil would likely wash out or even burn those flavors, btw as always, ymmv. On some of the Ahlusion 'flavored tobacco' flavors - say Peachy Criminal - if you vape higher watts you'll get more of the tobacco flavor and lower watts will bring the 'peach' forward. That's how I use the upgrade batts sometimes with the two modes. An eGo-c Twist would do the same but I find I don't need that full range of voltage for my flavors.
