Actually, no - Joye 510 stuff runs on 3.1v, not 3.7.
Which is why I'd suggest that the OP tries his 510s on true 3.7 first, a KR8 battery and an adapter would be a very cheap way to try. (And it can be reused with 901 atties, which do make for a nice change once in a while.)

I see..Scottbee is a genius and i missed that post. Thanks for clearing that up :).

Anyway..the tornado is great but still is a 510 with a big battery. The KR is excellent (i have them all), but i really think that in the OP situation a "free from supplies" PV is a must.

P.S. On a side note. THAT would explain why i don't get the same hit from a tornado with an adapter and cartomizer compared to a KR. Interesting!

Do the easy thing and buy a bunch of them! I have a black Silver Bullet, because I want the biggest, I use a 510 on it, it's my favorite. I wanted a silver PV that uses a 14500 and doesn't come with a crappy junk button, so I bought a VP2, use an 801 on it and also adapters for a 510 and 901. I want something smaller with a 10440 to keep in my pocket at work, so I bought a Precise with 510 shorty T-tip from Super-T, the thing is sick looking and I can't wait for it to get here. I already decided I don't want to scratch up my Precise at work so I'm going to get a black rubberized Joye Stick V3 within the next few weeks. If I don't win the MrPuffer on the other forum, I'm going to buy one of those with a 510 connection, too, because I want a direct juice pumping device. And since I'm itching in my pants waiting for stuff in the mail, I bought a 5 pack of AA flashlights off ebay and some battery connectors and switches from Madvapes so I can build a bunch of my own mods. As soon as the Chinese steal the idea for the mAhmba, I'll get one of those too, because it's awesome. I'm sure I will think of a few more mods I need as soon as I rob the bank down the road.:thumb:

PV ban?? PSHHHT

Jep. 901 with an adapter on a 510 battery is noticeable less hit than 901 on a KR8, too. Although I have one flavour where this is actually an advantage. A single one only, though.

I'm in the same boat as you and decided on a battery mod. I went with the Mako Midi, but sadly when I received it, it didn't work. So it looks like I'll have to deal with the stock 510 battery till things get ironed out. :(

Thats where the GG and other fully mechanical mods get a serious advantage. GG is all metal with no wires or solders or plastics.

The Mako is mechanical also. I think the problem is with the atty connection. It just uses a simple flathead screw for the connection but I think it's sitting too low to make contact. The other problems are the button doesn't have much resistance and there were scratches on the body. There are other cons to it but they're not really major. I'll post my thoughts on it when everything gets sorted and I see how it actually vapes. Btw, I wanted a pre-mad mod so I wouldn't have to fiddle with anything. The retailer I bought it from has been amazing on the past purchases I made so I'll bet he takes care of things.

The GG looks awesome, but it's way more than I wanted to spend and almost every model is out of stock.
