Ok... so with all this FDA stuff, I have decided it wouldn't be a bad idea to stock up on some liquid. My 510 arrived this past Thursday. I also ordered a bunch of different 10 ml bottles from a few different vendors to try out. The problem is I haven't really found anything I like to stock up on. Maybe it was the 2 packs a day for the last few decades has killed the taste buds, but I really haven't came across anything that has knocked my socks off.

From Electro-Nic-Stix:
RY4 24mg
Apple 18mg
Blueberry 18mg

From Totally Twisted:
Coconut 24mg
Watermellon 24mg

From Rocky Mountain Vapor:
Cappuccino 18mg
Kiwi 24mg
Cinnamon 18mg
555 18mg
Rassberry 18mg

For some reason I did not enjoy either of the liquids from TW at all. They both had an off flavor to me. The blueberry & apple again didn't really taste all that different from each other, while I didn't dislike them like the TW liquids, they did not excite me either. I really wanted to like the cinamon, again didn't hate it but didn't love it. The rasberry was about the same as the blueberry and apple. The 555 seemed to have no flavor and the kiwi while it did have a little different taste then the other fruity ones, it was jus OK.

I've been using the RY4 the most and it is just OK, I don't love it, but I have to have something in the cartridge. I have also been using the cappucinno quite a bit. I don't know if I even like the flavor of the cappuccino and believe the only reason I have been using it so much is because unlike ALL the others it actually has a distinct flavor.

I see so many posts about people loving this flavor or that. I haven't found one I LOVE yet. At best I have found some that will deliver me nicotine without being completely unpleasant.

I am afraid that many of these flavors I have not given a fair chance. Unless I am mistaken some of the flavor is being left on the atty when I go to tatste another. So if someone wanted to sit down and really get an idea of what each flavor had to offer how would they go about doing it and really give each flavor a chance?

How long do I have to make a decision b4 it gets really hard to get my hands on this stuff and I have not stocked up for the rainy days ahead. Do I have time to order more 10ml and do more taste tests? Based on my expreiences with the above flavors, can someone suggest some. As I said, not sure I really like the flavor of the cappuccino, but I do like the fact that it gives a distinct flavor, are there others that deliver the flavor as distinctly just a different flavor.

Finally, am I expecting to much, should I just order a bunch of RY4 and be happy. I'd just love to be able to feel as good about my flavor of choice as some of you others and feel like time is running out quickly!

In order to really taste each flavor distinctly, you should be starting with a clean atomizer and fresh cartridge (or clean empty cartridge if you're dripping). So at the very least, blowing out the atty, rinsing it, and letting it dry (or baking it in the oven for a few minutes if you're impatient like me, lol).

You seem to be attracted to the fruity/dessert - type flavors, which are much easier to DIY than the tobacco flavors. If you're up for the challenge, you can always buy a bunch of unflavored liquid and try mixing some flavors yourself. Lorann's flavors are only ~$1 / bottle - much cheaper than buying 10ml of liquid you wind up hating.

As for specific suggestions, the only fruity flavor I've LOVED so far has been Apple from The Widow. It's a very distinct green apple flavor, sweet and a little tart. None of that perfume/chemical aftertaste many of the liquids have. If you like green jolly ranchers, you'll love it. :)

I spent one afternoon with my RN4081 (NPro) trying about 20 different flavors.
I was strictly dripping, with no cartridges.

I blew that atomizer out with all my heart and soul between each flavor though.
And when I say I blew it out, believe me, it was blown out.

I love both RY4 and 555 but I have found that no single flavor works for me completely.

I am currently working from a stockpile of different tobacco based flavors.
And I have a bunch of sampler bottles of other flavors that I am collecting to mix them with.

I have found the following go very well with tobacco based liquid...
-chocolate
-coffee
-butterscotch
-english toffee
-peanut butter
-caramel
-bavarian creme
-vanilla
-apricot

And I have decided I am going to pretty much throw away the following...
-banana
-watermelon
-coconut
-blackberry
-red bull
-black licorice
-red licorice
-amaretto
-spearmint
-mandarin

The point here is that your tastes may, can, and almost certainly will vary from mine.
Or anyone else's for that matter.

Good luck finding what works for you though!

When I first started vaping, there were some flavors I loved and some that I really, really didn't. I put away those that I didn't. Fast forward maybe a month . . .

Flavors I initially liked, well, I decided I didn't really like them. Dug out some of the old flavors I hadn't initially liked, and decided they were actually pretty good.

My point is, as you recognize, your tastebuds are in flux, trying to come back online after years of abuse. :)

If you haven't yet hit on something that makes your tastebuds sing, don't worry overly much . . . chances are you'll find yourself enjoying something from your initial stash. ;)

As for me, my personal favorite is Walrus' Peach Pie. That stuff is so tasty that I have to stop myself from smacking my lips. My understanding is that a couple of suppliers will be carrying his line in the not-so-distant future, so you'll want to keep your eyes open for that.

And, yes, to give each flavor a fair shake, you need to try them using a relatively clean atomizer. I simply blow out the atomizer, and add the new flavor . . . and figure that the first couple of vaping sessions will taste like a mixture, but the new flavor will eventually dominate. I don't "clean" my atomizers . . . too much work. ;)

I fully understand that taste is a very personal thing. I just feel like I must be doing something wrong to not like the taste of any of these and feel like I am settling for the ones I am using. As I said, I have most been using a flavor I don't think I like because it is a distinct flavor.

In order to give each one a fair shake, should I be using for a full day or a few hours or is 6 or 7 puffs enough.

Should I not be so worried about stocking up. I've just invested so much money I don't want this all to get banned and be stuck with no nicotine. I feel like I have to make a choice in flavor quicker then I would like!

150 degrees for 20 minutes.

That's about what I did, although I used the toaster oven instead of the real oven. Seemed silly to heat up the whole house just to cook an atty. :)

General consensus on stocking up is that, IF there's a ban, you probably have a month or less before it happens. So stocking up now would be smart. I've got enough unflavored juice to last about 6-9 months - I hope to be nicotine-free by then. I also started off by ordering a bunch of flavored juices from different vendors, but didn't really fall in love with any of them (although the Widow's apple came close). So I went the DIY route. I figured, if it didn't work out, I could always sell the unflavored stuff on the classifieds section, somebody out there could certainly use it...

Wish I found out about all this just a few months earlier so I had more time to know what I liked before I had to stock up to keep doing it. I wouldn't have minded trying a different model as well, but it seems like so much to stock up on supplies for two models instead of one (extra atty's cartridges ect). At least my 510 seems to work well, but without something to compare it to... who really knows!

Has anybody tried adding a few drops of vanilla extract to change a flavor they don't like. I've always loved vanilla, but I do not want to ruin my atty if it wont work.

You're not doing anything wrong, you just haven't found the perfect flavor for you.

Flavor really varies a lot between brands, and even between vendors selling the same brand, so it's not just a matter of deciding you like strawberry liquid - you may need to try a few different strawberries to find the one that does it for you.

As for giving flavors a fair shake - honestly, I can usually tell by the smell in the bottle whether I'm going to like a flavor, and I know for sure with 5 or 6 puffs (once the atty really starts going). I've never changed my mind about a flavor after the first impression, even going back and trying them again after several days or weeks.

But everyone's different, YMMV... :)

Never hurts to stock up if you can, if there isn't a ban you'd need it sometime anyway and it gives you the chance to try some more juices to see if any is "the one". But I do think that part of the problem is taste bud related. I know that it took well over 2 weeks before I could really taste my flavors. At first I just couldn't fathom what all the fuss about flavor was because both flavors pretty much tasted the same to me, and not all that much like what they were supposed to. I guess after smoking between 1.5 and 2.5 packs a day for the past 20 years it took my taste buds a while to wake up. But one day I just woke up and it was like "wow, this is what they were talking about".

If there is a ban I hope mine wake up before there is one.

If I can just put a few drops of vanilla extract in there I might just order a bunch of the RY4 and do that. I've always loved vanilla (favorite flavor for other things) but every where I have been ordering from seems to be out of stock on that one!

you guy's are right, i hated the ecopure menthol that came with my innovapor order, after a couple vape sessions (and a deep cleansing of my primer soaked atty) i started to pick up on the sweetness and mild mint flavor...now im really enjoying it...shame my bottles empty

not trying to hijack the thread or anything...
but im looking for an awesome orange flavor...
im addicted to orange juice, orange crush, orange starburst; basically, anything orangey.
you guys have any suggestions on premade orange niquid that actually tastes like orange?

You need to make sure you are using water based flavors instead of oil based flavors.
People generally use Lorann's although you still need to know which are water based and which are not.

There is a thread in the DIY forum about this.

And if you're really concerned about stocking up, you might want to consider getting unflavored liquid.
Then you can learn to make your own should you need to.
