I have two Joye 510's with one charger. I use them constantly. Tonight, I figured out that one of my batteries will not hold a charge any longer. They are only 6 weeks old. Is this common? Are people supposed to buy new batteries every month and a half or so (depending on useage)?

Please help me to figure out if buying several batteries are to my best interest or if I need to go with something that will last longer (besides the Joye 510).

I've been looking at something like the "Silver Bullet" or something similar - Do other models last longer or use "regular" batteries? I'm pretty dissapointed that one of my highly used Joye 510 batteries took a dump so early in it's short life.

Thank you very much for your input, it's much obliged.

*Also, if anyone does have a recommendation for a unit that will LAST LONGER, would you happen to also have a good midwestern USA distributor to recommend as well?

with the short time of a 510 battery, I am sure it will have a short life if you are recharging it several times per day. I was pointed to getting a PT fairly early on and I think dollar for dollar it was my best purchase. I have yet to loose a battery for my 510 if purchasing more you could look at a mega 510 or a mod that will give you both 3.7v and 5-6v

I got mine here: Joye 510 USB Passthrough as it was local and I was able to pick it up. I have noticed some have a battery inline as well and am curious about those

I'm a newbie, but I've read on this forum that batt life can be as little as a month with heavy use. That's not specific to 510s, but I expect to buy a new batt every month or so to add to my rotation. It should still be a good deal cheaper than analogs, especially if I mix my own juice.

I just ordered an eGo from wordupecig yesterday because the 510 atty's are interchangeable with the eGo atty's and the batteries are supposed to last forever (well, your results may vary, but I've heard they last any where from 18 hours to 3 days depending on how much you use them) and I spoke with the guy from there for a while on the phone. He gave me some good advice about charging the 510 batteries: #1. let the battery run completely and totally dry before charging it. #2. unplug the charger for about 5-10 second whenever you switch out the batteries you are charging (take out the charged batt, unplug, count to 10, plug back in, put in the dry battery) I did that today and have been happily vaping away on the same 510 batt since about 10am this morning. not bad.

Any Li-Io battery will have something like 300 recharging cycles and then do the way of all batteries; the more densely packed, the less. And the last of those cycles won't be quite as full as the first, either. It's simply a limit of technology.
If you vape a lot on only two batteries, six weeks is approximately what I would expect.

If you want to buy a mod, do check out whether you actually like your 510 atties on the full 3,7 volt, because natively, they run on around 3.1, and the difference is noticeable. Some people, me included, don't like them very much on 3.7. Cheapest way to check that is a KR8 battery and an adapter, or a 510 clone battery.
If you find you prefer 3.1v, check out the eGo.

I found that also varies on your e-juice, I just got some TV Atomic Cinnacide love it at on my old 510 batteries, don't care for it on my new XHaler at 3.7v and HATE it at 5v-6v. But I really like my tobacco flavors at the higher voltages.

it still comes out fine in at 3.7v with the slb510 attys I have which have a higher resistance than my joye ones and keeps the sweet flavor fine.

The SLBs do run natively on 3,7v, it's the Joyes that run on 3.1. Which made me dislike clones even more.

And yes, how a Joye on 3.7 comes across does also depend on the flavour you try it with, but I must say, all in all, for me there were only one or two where it was really good, a few more where it didn't make much of a difference, and many where I did not like it. But again, personal preference.

Either get a good passthru or a mod that takes a 3.7 battery.

Personally, i would suggest something with the 3.7 battery just because it is not confined to a plug in.

3.7 v battery lasts me all day long....one charge a day...definately beats charging the smaller batteries every few hours.

I love the Silver Bullet...the Screwdriver is a great vape as well...as are lots of the devices sold here on this site. Also, you might want to think about one of the mod boxes. You can pick one of them up for around 35.00 shipped...and get yourself a good battery charger and a few batteries.

Just my opinion, but i dont think you will be disappointed in any of the suggestions given here.

Good luck and enjoy the vape :)

Like you started out with 510. 2 pack a day smoker, but was constantly switching batteries. Got a tornado. 6 plus hour on batt, very good vape. Added a Screwdriver MK1 from UK. Even better with 3.7 rechargeable. The batteries in SD are considerably less expensive than the tornado/ego to replace. Have Indulgence and just ordered Silver Bullet. Mods are the way to go. Most cost effective. Best Vape.

It is not necessary to let the battery completely discharge before recharging. That was true with older style batteries, but makes no difference with modern Li-Io batteries.

I'm awaiting my Screwdriver MK1. Can't wait. It's been encouraging to come across good SD reviews while I wait.

Just got my Joye 510 and I love it! After reading some of the bat issues I plan to be careful with mine.
I hear you about loving the Joye 510 and being careful with the bat. Today, I placed an order for a Joye 510 kit (2 bats, 2 atomizers, 1 PCC, two 5 ml juices) from www.cignot.com, all for an extremely reasonable price. It shipped today, YAY! I can't wait to start using my *manual* (versus automatic) Joye 510's. Both the manual bat & non-LED bat *might* lead to a longer life, albeit probably by just a few weeks (I will be happy with anything that I can get regarding bat life span!). Also, a purple PCC is going to be a cool way to charge my Joye's. Vaping rocks!

Perhaps next month I will order a screwdriver from the UK ~ It's quite the investment, especially when you need a unit A.S.A.P! ;)

Here's to happy & healthy vaping! :)

I thought the SD starter kit was very reasonable with the free 2nd body (about $115 USD). That's probably $35-40 for each body plus $20-30 for the very nice accessories plus $15 for shipping and Paypal conversion chrge. Of course, I NEED the 2nd body for my husband. Maybe you could sell the 2nd one on here?
