Congratulations on joining this forum……. . The majority of us are ex-smokers so we understand and have compassion for you.
All smoking cessation programs (gum, patch, pills) require you to quit cold turkey. vaping doesn't. I think that's why it has been so successful for so many. Some do quit cigs cold turkey the first time they vape. Others will do it gradually. The key is not to feel pressured to a set schedule or date. Let it happen organically.

It's cool to buy tobacco flavored vape juice. I did when I first started. It will help make vaping more like smoking so I understand.
The hardest part is figuring out what you need to be closest to cigs. Is it the flavor? Is it the burning sensation at the back of your throat? For me it was a warm exhale. I always exhaled through my nose (still do). So once I could set up my vape gear to give me an warm exhale, I knew that was it.
I would encourage you to visit a reputable vape shop to get a better feel for the equipment. Valentine technology has changed dramatically since those cheap vape pens that you spoke about. If you're apprehensive about the gear one store recommends, take pictures or make a note of it. Post the information here and we can advise you.
Congratulations on your desire to quit smoking. We'll support you however we can as we've all been there.

Mouth to lung hit? Not that I've thought about the technicalities before of my puffing lol- uk and money wise not too much- under £100

Great, you're in the UK! Good news. Did you read my original comment about Google?
Anyway... £100 is thankfully way more than necessary these days. There are great devices out there for £20-£30. Personally, I think spending a bit more makes sense as some of the £20/30 e-cigs are limited in function or unreliable or only offer a certain type of vaping or (in particular) are all-in-one (AIOs) which can leave you frustrated in some way.

I'm in the uk- between £50/£100. I've heard about the innokin? The eleaf ? Mudder?
What's the best out there? I don't want to taste a metallic taste that I experienced with my previous e cig as I really want this to work - may of been V2?

V2 are not an example of a good e-cig. They make basic stuff and charge double or triple...
They have recently moved into more advanced e-cigs but the desire to take your money and convince you they are the best e-cig this side of the planet Mars has not changed.
You certainly do not want to shop there again.

Mudder? Yes, it exists. No, it's not really a brand of e-cig, just some outdated hardware being sold on Amazon etc.

Innokin and Eleaf are both respected Chinese makes of e-cig. Both have their good points and few bad points. Joyetech, Kanger and Aspire should also crop up.

Let me make this as clear as I can without being patronizing. If the shop(s) you are looking at is not selling Innokin, Eleaf, Kanger, Joyetech, Aspire then you really, REALLY don't want to be shopping there.

"Brand" products (VIP, Vapouriz, Halo, Vype, Blu...) are nearly always simply existing hardware but for more money. Worse still, some sell CLONED products for even more money trusting in the power of marketing to sell you a £29.99 e-cig for £99.99

and lastly (if I may)... you must not trust review sites. They are kind of scams in their own right. These sites exist solely to make money. They do this by leading you ever so gently to the brands that pay them the most commission. These people are parasites.
This means in the UK you will find yourself on the doorstep of many brands where you will be wasting money on inferior products at a very high price.

Please ask any questions.

I have loved and hated smoking...it's been my master for long enough. I tried a couple of e cigs which were not robust and broke, the complete turn off was having a coil burn out while I was taking a drag which was unpleasant and led me to loose confidence in vaping. I need your help in selecting the right vaping kit. I need a similar effect to Marlboro lights? Can that be done?
Welcome and glad you joined. Suggest you keep your selection simple when you start out. Stay away from the 1 ohm setups & under (can get expensive real quick) until you feel you want to go that way.
