Started yesterday. Thought my builds in my kayfuns had started to go bad, flavor started to disappear, so tore them down and rebuilt. Then my my different tanks started to loose flavor, thought heads were just going out. Now today, I can't taste any of my awesome juices :(. What is the quickest way to get rid of this? I have been really struggling to get off of cigarettes completely, and was just thinking at the end of the week, man these Nicoticket juices taste awesome, I can do this. Was starting to notice that cigarettes were starting to taste worse and worse. I know this is not an excuse to not try to continue to give up smokes, but it was the flavors that kept me wanting to vape more than grab a stinky. I really want one of those Nicoticket success banners :), but I need to taste those flavors to get there. Please help, what helped you get over vapers tongue? And yes I have been drinking water like mad today. Any help would be much appreciated.

brush teeth, brush tongue, Biotene rinse.. then vape unflavored for a little while..

^This. I was coming here to give my advice but Solace beat me to it. She's right on the money. It's important to have some unflavored eliquid in your nic level on hand to deal with vapers tongue. Biotine helps to transition from analogs even if you don't get hit with VT so it's another great thing to have on hands. Best of luck redfishin.

Ha, all my juices taste like unflavored right now. Biotine, hmmm, off to the store to go find some. Thanks, this is about to drive me nuts, I want to taste my f5, virus, naki's blend, oh heck all the Nicoticket flavors again, they are awesome. Luckily i have some so so juices around that I am vaping now, I think it actually helps that I can't taste these. No sense in wasting my Nicoticket flavors while I can't taste them.

can u still smell the juice properly? might also be a cold ...

Hahaha, my wife just walked into the room while I'm sitting here with several open Nicoticket bottles around me taking sniffs of each one. Said I don't even want to know, rolled her eyes and walked out.:laugh: (I should also mention that she has been nothing but supportive of me vaping and trying to quit smoking)

But yes I can still smell the wonderful juices, dang it I want to taste them again.

While this is a good time to vape flavored eliquids that you don't like, that doesn't serve the same purpose that flavorless eliquids serve. One of the most suspected reasons that people get vapers tongue is flavor overload. The taste buds are just overloaded and eventually shut down. Vaping flavorless eliquid lets your taste buds recover from the overload by not bombarding your tongue with powerful flavors. If you simply vape bad flavored eliquids because you can't taste them there is a risk that it can prolong vapors tongue.

Remember, you want your taste buds to recover from overload. Flavorless juice is the way to go.

Hmmm, I get what you are saying. I don't have any unflavored juice. I just moved to a new city also, so I am not sure if there are any vape shops around where I might be able to get unflavored juice from. How long does this tend to last? Just wondering if it would be worth ordering unflavored from somewhere, obviously would take a few days to get here. Would have to figure out where to get it from also. Hey Clark do you sell unflavored juice?:D

Most eliquid vendors that sell lots of flavors also sell unflavored juice. Nicoticket is a boutique vendor that only sells a limited amount of pre-steeped flavors and don't offer flavorless juice. You can order unflavored eliquid from places like Mt. Baker or Lucky 7. It isn't necessary to use it if you don't have it. Even if you don't order any your tongue will get better in time. Unflavored is simply a tool to help speed the process along. If you do order some I recommend also getting a small bottle of liquid sweetener. That way you can still sweeten the unflavored liquid if you don't like it plain. It won't have a flavor, only a slight sweetness. It's also handy to have if you want a flavor a little sweeter than it is stock. Just be careful, most sweeteners only take a couple drops to work. The amount of time it takes to recover is different for every person.

Another possibility...have you recently started vaping different flavors, specifically fruity ones? I used to get VT like every two or three days and thought I had a PG sensitivity, but it turned out that I am really sensitive to most fruity stuff. I have since found that it's not that uncommon. Once you get your tastebuds back, try avoiding fruits for a while and see what happens when you return to them.

All the advice already mentioned here worked for me.

1) drinking water and brushing teeth/tongue
2) Lemon juice/pickle juice to shock the taste buds
3) vaping unflavored nic

One thing I didn't try was sniffing coffee beans.. Apparently people who test cologne, wine and chocolate do this to reset their palates.

I recently had a battle with VT myself. It lasted almost a week, and I could only taste peppermint or a straight menthol juice. Tried everything mentioned except the unflavored juice. Sniffing fresh ground coffee seemed to help more than anything.

I hope you are wrong on the fruity flavors. I have been vaping BG for a couple months, it is a flavor that I visit everyday, but I have also been hitting F5 like a mad man since I got it. F5 hits awesome for me. Don't even care about a cigarette when I am vaping this stuff. I sure hope that the fruit flavors are not the cause.

For me, fruit flavors are the opposite. I vape mostly CB, GCD, Frenilla, and the Virus. I only really use betelgeuse as a palate cleanser when my taste buds start to dull from a lot of similar flavors. I drip some betelgeuse for most of a day, and by that evening my other flavors are popping again. If not, I wait till the next day to pick them back up.

I could conjure some unflavored if needed... but...

Vaper's Tongue is one of those things where an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Brushing your teeth, tongue (at least twice daily)... Biotene/Mouthwash... all good suggestions. Hydration - drink lots and lots of water (important because PG dehydrates you, gives you "cotton-mouth"). It's also good for your health!

I had to cut soda out of my diet for the most part so I could avoid it... but that's just what worked for me. Also had the desired effect of cutting a few pounds :)

Who said vaping was unhealthy, again? I feel like a personal trainer. LMAO
