VIP Customs developed and makes the Morpheus and Ares editions. VIP Customs doesn't have a website that I could find, only a Facebook page. But it seems they've been bought out by another company. At least from what I was able to gather from their Facebook page.
To answer the question If I like the MOD. I absolutely loved the looks and the feel of it, and my tanks looked amazing on it; but I found out real quick that I'm not a mechanical mod kind of guy. I'll make a long story short...
I bought the MOD 2 days before my post. The place I got it from gave me careful instructions on how to use and care for it. Like many other mods you need to fire it from the bottom. It felt clumsy at the b&m firing from the bottom, but I thought I would get use to it. In order to set it down you need to lock the firing ring by turning it clockwise, and the reverse to unlock it.
I was a mess with it. When unlocking it I dropped my battery out, then next time I had it so tight so my battery wouldn't fall out that I actually removed the center firing mechanism. When trying to tighten that portion back up, it engaged and started to fire my tank. I had to remove my tank to stop it from firing.
That's when I decided I want a regulated device that I can operate with one hand if need be and that I don't need to worry about locking it every time I set it down and unlocking when I wanted to use it. Frustration set in.
I wanted to get as much info on the device as I could because I was just going to sell it on eBay or Craigslist and chalk it up to a very expensive learning experience.
I was confused when my receipt said Morpheus and my device didn't look like any other Morpheus out there. I was beginning to think I was sold the wrong mod. I decided to call the place I bought it to ask if I could exchange it. They said once a mod goes out the door they lose value but to come in and talk to them. I guess I was a little embarrassed that I couldn't handle a mechanical, hence me wanting to sell it on eBay. But when I walked back in they were awesome. They gave me full value of the MOD to apply towards something else. I am now a proud and very happy owner of a black Provari 3. They just got them in the day before.
Maybe that wasn't a short story, but I Leaned so much over this whole experience. I learned that a mechanical isn't for everyone, especially me. There is a lot of thought that goes into using one. Not that you should ever take a regulated, chip controlled device for granted either. But it was different knowing there were no safety features at all built in to it. I think the Provari is a much better fit for my style of vaping and I'm glad I learned it now. I also learned that some b&m stores really do care about their customers and their vaping experience. He assured me that I wasn't the first to have issues using a mechanical, he just wanted to make sure I was happy and comfortable with what I have. Man did he earn a client for life.
One thing for sure though, it sure was a beautiful mod. Just not for me.
