Ok, not quite sure where to post this, so admins please move if need be. When I first starting vaping, I was looking for the perfect flavor for myself. That being said, I ended up with a lot of flavors and a ce4 clearomizer for each. For the past two months I have been vaping only one flavor so I am not sure when this happened or how long it has been. I keep my clearomizers and liquid in a lockbox and today when I opened it up, I noticed that the little tupperware dish I keep my clearomizers is filled with leaked juice. All of the clearomizers are half filled to almost full. Is that normal for juice to leak out like that when storing them?! None of them were on their sides. I do have some knock off mini protanks as well but I didn't notice any of them on their sides either. I cleaned up the mess and wiped them all down but I don't want this to happen again. Should I rinse them all out and not put juice in them if I am not going to vape them for awhile? I never had this problem before until I exclusively started only vaping one flavor. Please let me know! Thank you in advance!

I would say the leak would probably have come from the mini protanks.

The juice has to travel UP the wicks for top coil clearos like your ce4. Once the wicks are saturated, it will stop wicking. Hence they will not leak when kept upright.

For bottom coil clearos like the mini protanks, the wicks are submerged in the juice. What keeps it from leaking are, 1) pressure, 2) surface tension. Over time, both of these would be "disrupted" for want of a better word.

I would suggest not storing your juice in bottom coil clearos for extended periods of time.

Edit: I'm assuming that the ce4 are not leaking from the area where the base is screwed into the tube.

Storing your clearomizers in tupperware container that has an airtight seal can create a vaccum when you open close the lid or sqeeze the container. It can cause the clearo's to leak by flooding them from the pressure change. I try to avoid letting juice set in any of my attys for longer than a few days because in my experience the juice always goes bad.

If you're using bcc's(evods, protanks, aspire) store them upside down. No leaks, I promise.

Ny keeping them upside down all the juice is in a part of the tank that is closed off completely, the only place for juice to escap is through the coil/wick area and the only thing touching the coil/wick area is air. So if you have a pressure change or temperature change the only thing escaping from your clearo will be air.

The leaking over extended time is normal, even for top-wicking clearos. All of them will leak a little over time through the bottom hole. If you haven't used them for an extended period of time, then yes, you may want to clean them out and store them dry. Probably even give them a vodka or PGA bath, first. I've noticed that my clearos (both top and bottom fed types) will leak, and eventually get gross if I don't use them for awhile. I even had one that the liquid turned greenish and smelled like algae after I'd forgotten about it for a month or two. Or maybe it was three. So, if you aren't using them, dump the liquid, give them a hot water and/or alcohol bath, let them dry, and put them to the side until you want to try a new flavor again.
