Help me before I destroy anything else!

So my new stuff came yesterday apparently. Hubby didn't check the mail so I just found it this morning. Of course I went straight for the stone tank. I unscrewed the top and removed the plastic stopper, and one side of the wick was frayed at the plastic thing it hooks into at the top and it looked like it was barely in there, so I thought I would try to get a little better contact on the wick before I filled it. I couldn't get the wick pushed into place, but I did manage to push the center rod through the bottom of the tank. Pushed it back up and figured I would try it anyway... of course it's dead. Guess I just bought a $12 drip tip.

OK, so I move on to the vision deux. I removed the mouthpiece, gently, slowly filled with a syringe with the needle down in the hole in the side of the plastic stopper top, carefully making sure that the needle doesn't touch anything. It fires, makes great vapor, but it is leaking out of the bottom where the plastic tube fits over the metal bottom. I always screw everything on till just snug, so I am pretty sure I didn't do anything wrong here. In the time it has taken me to log in to the computer and type this, the 1.5 cc or so that I loaded into it has all been absorbed by the paper towel wrapped around it.

I am afraid to even tough anything else!!! I have 2 more vision deuxs but I am not even removing them from the package until I get some advice here.

Obviously I did things wrong with the stone, no question there, but what about the vision? How common is it for them to leak at the base? Is this covered as "DOA" or am I just SOL?

Can I safely touch anything else I received??????​ HELP!!!!!!!

On the stone, are you sure you didn't push it too far to where it's not making contact with the battery? Only thing I can think of.

For the vision, sounds like the o-ring at the bottom isn't in place.

Where is the juice coming out of, around the base where the tubing connects or down the middle where the battery contact is.

Erin already asked the question I was going to ask, so I'll just offer moral support:

It doesn't sound like you did anything wrong with the Vision, just got unlucky, and you can probably fix it. Go ahead and try another Vision. Just don't fill it past the bottom of the cup.

I don't see an o ring at all? I see a place that could hold an o ring, but it just has a wire that goes about 1/4 the way around. I risked touching another vision to open the package and look at it, and it is set up the same way. Didn't open the third one.

I will try the advice to try to save the stone, but I already washed it out so I will have to wait for the wick to dry before I can test it. Maybe I didn't kill it, just put it in a coma.

ETA: Strange things happening here... this is what I see and quoted:
"Sounds like you pushed the mouth piece back on without it being attached to the battery or putting you finger on the center post of the bottom. Try putting the vision on a hard flat surface and pressing gently down to push the battery connection pin back in a bit."
But the above text shows up and I still don't see it above. Or am I profoundly sleep deprived? LOL

To answer the question that I just finally saw when accidentally quoted, it is around the base, not through the battery connection. I watched it very carefully to check this.

picture looks like a Vision Giant with LED to me - the LED leg wraps around in the grove where the oring is supposed to be. on first glance this design looks to me as it would be leaky unless the tube is securley glued all the way around. i have a Vision Giant with the LED its made the same way - no oring and the wire goes part way around the grove. i never got around to using that one yet because the ones i got before it work so well still.

Yes, it is the LED version. I thought I would save a buck to test them since they are on clearance. I guess that was a bad idea since they lack the o ring. Hopefully the other 2 will be better.

I guess there is no way to save this one then. Not sure I would be comfortable trying to add glue, unless others have had success with it?

OK, what you got in the pic is Vision LED. Mine looks exactly the same. I'm looking real close at the pic, and it seems to me I see a small crack in the base...

Anyways, if it's leaking from the seal, you should be able to return it - that's an honest-to-god malfunction, methinks. (goodness, you are "lucky"... anything can leak, I s'pose, but Visions usually don't. ) Open a ticket while you still can under the policy, just in case.

And, you might be able to save the Stone tank - but someone else will have to talk you through it, I don't know how, since I only have one and I don't really use it.

Yep, Briar, that is the kind of "lucky" that I am. Murphy thinks I am his best friend, but he sure ain't mine! I am glad to hear that this is just my incredible luck at work. I filled the other 2 and they are fine, and I really like them so far. I may have finally found my happy place.

But now another problem ... I guess I got overzealous with one of my deuxs. I was happily vaping away when it started gurgling. I think I drew too hard and sucked juice into the air tube. What is the best way to clear the tube?

I think I need to step away from all the vaping products and go to bed. The lightning strikes from this black cloud over my head are getting dangerous this morning.

Take it off the battery and just blow through the mouthpiece. Preferably onto a paper towel or something and not your keyboard

if there is a crack you can try filpping the tube or you can glue it. i use CA (glorified modeling super glue) and havent had any problems. GV also sells some good eco glue that is edible (and works very well) if your worried about juice contact

Sorry about that, I answered, then realized in my befuddlement, that I needed to ask a question before I answered. Being that it is the base, I recommend putting it on a battery. Take the cup seal and mouth piece off. Gently pull the tube up, but not off, the base. Then run a bead of glue or sealant and press the tube back on the base. Let it dry/cure overnight and try again.

And I usually only put cup seals and mouth pieces back on after it is on the battery.

Man your eyes are way better than mine. I didn't, and still don't see a crack, lol. Yeah if there is a crack I'd open a ticket.

Man I am completely spamming your thread. On the stone, I'd take the tube off the base and take a look at the wires. If they don't appear to be securely connected to the air tube and the base, you could try soldering them (i don't think they are soldered to start with, but I dint know what precise method they are attached by). Otherwise, one of the coils side might be broken off the wire. Thirdly, you might have pushed the battery pin in too far and it isn't connection isn't being made. You can test it on a multimeter to see if it is all connected. Or you can wait a bit. New bases are supposed to be in soon, and under three bucks. In future on vision products, as long as the wick isn't frayed more than halfway through, they work fine.

Well, I tried to work on the stone but I ended up making it even worse. Actually I guess you can't get much worse than dead , but the parts look worse. I guess I will have to wait for the innards kit so I can fix it.

As for the vision, I got a reply on my ticket and Daniel said I can send it back.

I am really loving these vision deuxs! I used it most of the night then switched to a boge for a different flavor and it is now so disappointing I only vaped it for a few minutes before switching back. Massive clouds of vapor. Now the problem is I need MORE MORE MORE of them. I'm an unashamed juice ho so I need visions for each flavor. The vapor is so much warmer than the ego attys or the boges too. That took a bit of getting used to actually because I was kinda liking the cool vape, but it's great now that I have adjusted to it.

I have many more questions now too of course, but it is way past my bedtime (again- I swore I was going to bed on time today) so they will have to wait until tomorrow.

Well, I am glad the visions are working well for you, the ones working. It is pretty uncommon for those to have an issue. You might also check out micro-stretches and nanos. I have not received my nanos yet, but I can tell you I love the stretches for juices I know I won't vape that much in a single day on. And the nanos are just supposed to be a shorter version of the stretch. (Plus, since they are so much cheaper than the minis, I don't feel as bad about throwing 10 or so in my cart and being on my merry way).

Yup, nanos rock for testing juices and for the juices you only want to use occasionally. I've also discovered that some juices I didn't like taste great in the nano! I'm pulling the yuk juice graveyard shoebox out of the closet and ordering more nanos...

Huh, that's interesting. I wonder why they taste different in the nano.

I checked the site and only the really small and really big ones are in stock, no in between sizes. I hate to wait to order but want some 1.5s too. I wonder when they will have them.
