Yes u read that correct, I am still using my original smoktech vmax that I bought in a co op over a year ago. When the zmax came out I never bothered with it because I didn't see how it was any better than the v. I was curious about the whole vw thing but was still fine using the v.

A couple months ago I bought a new tube mod, a vamo I think, I use it so little I don't remember exactly what it is. It doesn't have near the power of my vmax .

Then I bought another tube mod it is vv vw, takes 1 18350 or 1 18650 battery and is supposed to be a 5 amp mod. I went with that one because it was 5 amp, I thought maybe that was what was missing? I do like this one better but I use it as a backup mod.

My vmax is still my workhorse. But using it on a daily basis, it needs a well deserved rest. I need a new work horse. So before I waste any more money I wanted to ask u all for suggestions.

I have also read about the DNA20 mods, but I know little about them. I would like to have something that is at least 5 amps, is vv and vw, and will perform as good as my year old ancient vaping terms mod.

I also wondered if maybe I needed to

Ops wasn't done and it won't let me edit

I was wondering if maybe I needed a mech mod with a kick? I see ppl really seem to enjoy that route, and I don't change my voltage too often that setting a kick would be counter productive, but I want to know what the advantages are?

If it matters, I exclusively vape dripping attys about 1.5 to 2.5 om

Any suggestions are welcome :) thanks guys! And gals

well the first thing is the Vmax was revised as it is overpowered and always put out more power then the setting, so most likely from here on out anything you use will always seem weak on the same settings when in fact you will actually be closer to the real power.

the only advantage to a kicked mech is the styling of the mech with a regulated output, more choices that way for styles and looks. like mine a lot with a kick. but your not going to go real high on the power settings and it is VW only with a 15 watt limit

the dna 20 is a nice chip and is good if you want more power (obviously you do).

what exactly are you looking to gain? except for a mech with a .8 ohm coil I rarely go high wattage and get excellent results.

i dont have any experience with the cheaper mods but i hear the Z is actually a decent mod

I would actually not be opposed to buying another vmax like the one I have, but I wouldn't know where to start since I am not sure if I have one of the very first or not. (Not sure how I could find out since it was a co op?)
My fear is that it's going to eventually quit on me. I use it and have used it every day since I got it. It's over a year old, closer to a year and a half, which is old in ecig mod years, lol. I want a replacement that is at the very least it's equal. With that said I hardly ever have gone over it's lowest 3.0 v setting. I have never needed to. Its only been in th past couple weeks with wrapping my own coils at 2.5 om that I have turned it up to 4.5 v.
In my vaping I went from 14500 box mods to the vmax and never went further, I am considering getting a zmax, but since the 2 mods I have bought were both 4 amp, I didn't know if the 4 amp zmax would be just like the other 2 4 amp mods or if it would be closer to my v?
I wonder what the vmax ppl upgraded to? The zmax? A DNA20 mod? Something else?

If I had my choice of mods I would love to get my hands on one of the mods made by mamu, an I hope one day I will but in the mean time I am looking for a easily available mod just so I have back up.

Are there any other 5 amp mods?

Funny u would mention the v5, I was just looking at those for the first time today. Are they not out yet or as there a problem with them? It will be nice someday to have a mod that is charged without batteries, one less thing to have to lug around.

Yes, the V5 has been out for a few weeks. I have read several posts from owners and they like them. I haven't run across any problems being reported with V5 yet. Give it time, sooner or later problems with every bit of vaping equipment ever made show up on ECF eventually. I have always found replaceable batteries to be a major plus with tube mods.
