HOLD EVERYTHING...

You vape menthol, but none of Halo's menthols...

Have you not tried sub-zero yet.

If you did and didn't like it your crazy.

LOL, call me crazy then. I've had all of Halo's menthols, including sub-zero. I won't call them bad, everyone has different tastes, and I know plenty of people love their juice, but I prefer others. Still can't beat their hardware though. I've ordered other 808 batteries thinking they're all probably the same, but I never get the performance from anything other than the G6. I finally quit wasting my money (and the return postage on sending things back!) and now only order hardware from Halo.

g6 mini tanks look goofy on a triton, but work just fine. However, I would only use them on a triton VV set to 3.3 volts, as the regular titon seems to make it burn hotter than it was meant too.

Also, the biggest thing that will make turn him off to vaping is not being able to find a good flavor. It can be quite tricky, and I'm only just starting to find flavors I like (luckily I found 2 good all day vapes from the start).

New question! After all this discussion I am now thinking I want to try the Triton. I still need my G6's autos for work, and I really do hate manuals, but I vape so much at home in the evenings I'm thinking the Triton might make sense for that.

My problem is, since I've only ever used the G6 and mini tanks, I know nothing about resistance or ohms. I'd like to order some extra coils with my starter kit, but I have no idea what resistance to choose. Can someone explain what that even means, please and thank you :)

edited to add: I also don't know the difference between the mah's, 400 or 650 are the choices, but I don't know what any of that means either

The 650's will last longer than the 400's and they are longer in length than the 400's. In this picture Cinder Ella posted the smallest battery is the 400 and right next to it is the 650's.

The 650's are are just a little shorter than the 78mm G6 battery shown in this picture.

The Triton tanks are easier than the mini's to fill and clean. And the standard size replacement coils to use is the 2.2-2.4 coils. It's what most everyone uses.

I'm like you, the G6 is a must for me at work and in public. I love the Triton for home.

Okay and I'll explain what the resistance coils are......since your familiar with the mini tanks. You know when that tank is ready to toss because it is all gunked up. Now imagine you can just unscrew that metal center post with the wicks and screw a new one on it to make it a new tank. Yay it's cheaper to get a new tank by just replacing that coil also the coils can be cleaned and reused too. Very economical. ;)

Thank you Evie Luv, that is really all I needed to know! And very cool that I can save on tanks that way. I love the mini's, and they last me awhile, but it would be nice to re-use them longer by adding new coils.

I have a cart loaded up at Halo with some new back-up G6 batteries, I think I may throw a Triton kit in there now too. :)

Get the 650mAh. It lasts half again longer than the 400. And since you say it'll stay home, the size shouldn't matter. In fact, the 650 balances at the button with a full tank. It's very natural to hold.

The starter kit and tanks come standard with 2.2 coils. They should be fine for the majority of juices. My exception is Belgian Cocoa, I like it a bit cooler. If I didn't have a variable volt battery, I would get a set of higher resistance coils, 2.6 or 3.0. Lower resistance coils will tend to vape hotter, while higher resistance will vape cooler.

My recommendation? Get the starter kit with the 650mAh bats, get 2 extra tanks, if you like many flavors, and who doesn't? If you need to get to the next $20 for Halo points, then consider a pack of regular 2.2 coil replacements. Or a few minis. It hurts to be a few dollars short of a multiple of $20 (75 points for each 20 on hardware)

Enjoy the Triton. Nothing out vapes it or out flavors it!!!

I'm just catching up on this thread, but I'd like to add a couple thoughts about some earlier posts. There's nothing wrong with a former smoker deciding to vape, even if he/she quit a long time ago. I quit for a long time as well, and eventually returned. Perhaps I was in a low stress situation when I quit, but when stress happened I got back into it. Or perhaps (my personal favorite theory), I never really wanted to quit in the first place.

I would go around angry and bitter for years on end. It might sound silly, but I really held a grudge against the world for forcing me into this stupid decision. I liked my habit. I still do. In the end, I wasn't a former smoker, I was a hibernating smoker. If I had vaping back then, I'd have never given it a second thought.

There is a very calming sensation from vaping that mimics exactly what smokers get from their habit. That's nothing to shy away from. Embrace it. Perhaps embrace it at 0 nic, but embrace it. Personally, I'm tapering down. I'm at about 9-12 mg now, I guess the obvious next step is 6. But that's all water under the bridge. The analogs are gone, and that's really all that counts.

If the guy is still curious, then he's hibernating. Hook him up with vape gear, and don't view it as a quitting tool at all. It's a relaxing, therapeutic activity you can hang on to as long as you damn well feel like.

Very well put, weskeene. I've known far too many smokers that have 'quit' for 10 years only to return. With vaping I don't feel deprived at all - as long as I can vape, I will never feel the need to smoke, and of that I'm quite sure.

The way I can tell is the way I feel. The first time around, I was never happy. Yes, I got to the point where I didn't need one. But it doesn't mean I wasn't holding a grudge every time I saw someone having a smoke...I was.

But now, I see them all the time, and I don't give it a second though, I just take a hit from my clean nic source and nod at them. I'm happy as a clam.

Placed a HUGE order this morning! 6 more back-up G6 bats, an emerald green Triton starter kit, extra tanks and coils.

And an update on the husband, his 0mg juice arrived yesterday. I gave him a G6 and turned him loose. He said he can't feel the inhale, but I told him that's likely due to the lack of nicotine. He did take it to work with him today though, so we'll just have to wait and see if he ends up sticking with it or not.

I'm assuming you meant to type Mystic, but accidentally typed Sub-Zero.

Nobody wants to walk around with a cold throat all day.

That was no typo, I don't get everyones' complaints about the sub-zero. You have to shakeit up REALLY good and let it breathe for a day then it is smooth sailing. A lot of people complain about the menthol but it honestly has less menthol than a camel menthol light, so I don't really see where people are coming from with that. Also, the mint is almost unoticable, so much so that it only gives a hint of sweetness and not a minty taste.

If you want a juice to mimic a menthol analog to the T, Sub-Zero is the best bet. I thought the cool mist and Mystic were the same exact juice labeled differently, and the menthol ice is just watered down Sub-Z.

I've already mentioned this in a few other threads, but Halo's Sub-Zero is the ONLY juice I've been vaping for 6 months now. I vaped other brands and flavors for several years, but sold or threw them all out. My analog of choice was (...and still is, if I'm at a concert/bar or have a stressful day) Camel Crush, which is super strong menthol, and Sub-Zero is the ONLY juice that has helped me cut down on my smoking.

Awesome - now you have backups for your backups! Pics when it all comes in:D

Are you talking about the menthol taste or menthol effect of sub-zero?

Sub-Zero is frost blast! I smoked menthols of all different brands for years, and none turned my throat into an icicle like that ejuice. It makes drinking cold water painful.

I thought cool mist and mystic were almost identical too. Menthol ice was nothing like sub-zero or mystic/cool mist. There is a vegetable like quality to menthol ice, my taste buds detected celery. I know that's a bizarre comparison, but I asked other current menthol analog smokers "what vegetable does this taste like" and they said the same exact thing lol.

If you take the tobacco out of a menthol analog, Mystic is strikingly close. I love it.
