Well if I can be of any help I really like my 901. I got it from totally wicked. The battery life for me is just fine, i seem to be able to get four or more hours from them. The carts are ok but I always top off seeing as how I work from a desk. I have had if for about a month now and have only smoked one atomizer. I like the vapor production I get from it also. On the other hand my roommate has a 510 from the smoke safe and he loves the thing. I have used his in comparison to the 901 and I really like it also. The 510 trucks out the vapor and I really like the warmth of the vapor also. The one draw back is the battery on the 510 doesn't last long at all. My roommate is always charging batteries and now has a PCC to. I prefer the carts on the 510 because they seem to give me move vapor from my 901. I guess to put it this way is all up to personal preference. I have and love my 901 but I just ordered a 510 because I wanted to move to a manual switch. Either way you go I think you will be happy.

If battery life is a major criteria moving from an 801 to a 901 is not a good idea.

I agree due to the battery life as well as the smaller carts on the 901. It depends on what you're looking for. I went from a 901 to a penstyle because of the poor battery life and frequent refilling on the 901. The throat hit I get on my pen is better than the 901 which was another thing I was interested in.

Being that battery life and vapor was listed as your top criteria my recommendation is as follows:

If you want to stay under $100 than I would go for the Janty Stick as it has a 6 month warranty, gets about double the battery life of your current penstyle and a built-in passthrough. It also uses the same atomizers as most penstyles so you will be able to have some redundancy. Several folks here have stated that the atomizers from Best e-cig (BE112) work great on the stick. There are some issues with the stick that some have experienced such as a faulty switch and leaking issues. If you were to experience these issues you've got a 6 month warranty so that will cover you for a while.

If your budget is over $100 then I'd look at the GG, the Prodigy and Screwdriver. Both the Prodigy and Screwdriver are offered in Penstyle versions, the GG offers an adapter. The GG is about $200 while the Prodigy and Screwdriver are around $150. The Prodigy is a 5v device, the Screwdriver is 3.7v and the GG is configurable in 3.7v and 6v. If you use liquid cut with VG I would avoid a 6v configuration. See this website for more info on that: Information on the electronic cigarette, the alternative to smoking tobacco. (thanks to kinabaloo).

The price point difference between the Screwdriver and Prodigy are negligible so the real difference is warranty and voltage. There is a lot of info on the voltage issue on the board so I would recommend you search around and ask questions about that. I am not sure as to what kind of warranty Trog offers on the Screwdriver but the Prodigy comes with a 6-month warranty. These warranties do not cover atomizers. I hope that helps.

It looks like the 510 wins the polls. Is it because of the manual switch?

Personally I think the stock 510 batteries are not all that great. You get a lowered battery life and they are not hands free. The only advantage to a small automatic battery to me is the fact they are hands free. Any device that requires the use of a hand really looses it's benefit of being small so why not be a bit larger and fit a longer lasting battery? This is an area where the screwdriver excels as it uses a much larger battery but is no longer than a standard 901.

With all of that said, I am looking forward to 510 adapters for the Janty Stick and Prodigy.

ok i went on the janty website: which one is best? a Dura-C? and what the heck is a Dse 901 adapter. Is a 901 the one with a manual switch?

A dura c is one of the many names used for a Joye510. It is a mini similar to the 901 but uses a manual button. It will have less battery life than the penstyle you are using now. The 901 adapter allows you to use a DSE901 atomizer on the janty stick. Which one is the best? That's up for debate. See my previous posts.

oh and what is a built in passthrough?

A built in passthrough allows you to hook your device up to a USB port or a 110v wall plug USB adapter and vape directly from it. In the case of the janty stick it is used to also charge the battery.

You will get a lot of advice on this topic I'm sure, good luck sorting through it.

I'm still a fan of the KR808D-1. The batteries last longer on this than any of the other traditional style ecigs I've tried. Probably not as long as the mod styles mentioned above, but it looks and feels more like an analog if that's important to you.

That is true, the only issue I see with the KR808D-1 is that if you plan on refilling it is very easy to flood the cart and gunk up the auto switch causing it not to shut off after you take a drag.

The RS-888 Lady Pipe is a good contender. Has a good long battery, is a pen-style cart, and from what I have seen, produces a great amount of vapor. The same can be said for the e-Cigar.

I have a DSE901 and a JOYE510, and I like them both. I have a modded battery and a passthrough that I can use between charges on my 901. The only issue with these is that you do need to top them off pretty frequently.
