So I've broken 1 and had another PV fail recently. I've been out of the loop, and not following any of the advancements recently.

I've had a:
Lavatube - i liked it, other than the size, but lost it in a cab
Mini Lavatube - don't like this one, batteries are too small and don't last long enough, main button placement sucks.
Smoktech VV Gripper - stopped working, but didn't like the design anyway looks more comfortable than it was.
eVic - control head snapped in half :(
as well as an assortment of the ego style batteries.

Right now I'm mostly using my ego twist batteries with the mini lavatube as a backup.

Looking to try something else that I can use my 18650 batteries.
So I seek your help, what's the latest and greatest?

Provari, Vamo, Smoktech SID

Pretty new at this, not much experience with mods but have tried & like:

Vamo, Tesla, Innoken MVP

Variable watt Vamo is the best "bang for a buck" APV on the market. Pretty big improvement over what you have had to date. And it only costs $28 - $39 and uses 18650's and 18350's. VW is closer to "set & forget" than VV.

All pretty good suggestions, and like WV2Win states, Vamo is the best bang for the buck.

Good luck and happy vaping.

I've always wondered why the SID doesn't get more press. Is there something wrong with it? It's VV/VW just like all the others and a lot prettier.

Just wondering.

Sid is overpriced comparing to vamo and svd, and you have to pay extra money to get short tube for sid in order to use 18350. and for all these extra money, you dont get extra performance or function. Even less comparing to svd (no telescoping, no 3 colored fire button, for me personally it is even less beautifull). I dont like ONE button mod, always have to do more pushed to make any change.
If fasttech put sid with a reasonable price around 25-30 usd, it might be a good choice.

Yes vamo is cheap, but with only 7 bucks more you can get itaste svd, which is much better than vamo.
So for money saving I would go for svd, if money is not an issue, go for provari.
Think about this, the price of a provari is about 0.5-1day wage for most of people, can you build a provari in 0.5-1day?

Really?? How is the SVD "much better"?? How many different models have you used?? How long have you been vaping??

It looks better, lcd screen reads better, ohmmeter more accurate, removable top for a better cleaning, stronger center pole which is mounted on spring, big size clearo such as vivi nova protank iclear30 fix more steady, telescoping so you dont have to carry extra tube, voltage output smoother, it comes from a known fabricant which is iTaste, packaging is better.
I have only 2 vv/vw mods:vamo v2 ss and itaste svd, and I have been vaping for only 1+ month, I dont think one needs to vape for 10 years and runs several mods only to tell the difference between these 2 mods. Ever since I got svd, never used vamo again. It might be just my opinion but I really find svd much better than vamo. I also keep an open mind to hear on what point vamo is much better than svd aside of 7 buck cheaper.

Although I haven't tried any of the other mods being discussed, I must say that I love my Provari. It is built to last. I get the same strength of Vape all day long. I've dropped it...no biggie. I never worry about it working. I've also heard that repairs are done lightning fast at Provape, in the event that I it ever requires work. The one-year warrenty with the option to buy an extended warrenty speaks volumes to me. Good luck with whatever you choose!

My problem is you saying with no explanation, just a statement, that the SVD is "much better" than the Vamo. An accurate statement would be that the SVD is simply a little different than the Vamo and you prefer it.

I've used both, as well as around 20 other APV's, and the difference in "performance" between the SVD and Vamo is basically non-existent. I have found that the accuracy and the vape quality between the two is the same. I personally don't like the side view screen on the SVD or the button placement, which some reviewers have also disliked. But I would not state that the Vamo is better than the SVD due to those minor differences. The SVD is a good APV. The Vamo is a good APV. Turning your "opinion" into a "the definitive statement" on performance based on a month of vaping is underwhelming.

My 2 cents: I PERSONALLY am about to get the VAMO V2 from fasttech, because it's only $50 for the complete set-up. The NO2 setting really intrigues me, since you can just set it and it will figure out your res for you and adjust. I WISH that I could afford a Provari, and that will be what I pick when I've been at this for 6 months. It's expensive, but it's American made and they seem to have great support.

I have not even tried all the ones you have except the evic, and if you are concerned about breaking them, I would get a provari, that's the reason I bought one is for its durability, with the standard 1 year warrantee, and optional 2 year. I think it is worth the price, if you want something that will last. If your still not sure, just buy a new head for your evic, they redesigned the heads, and now have screws to hold them together, just don't drop it.
