That's so awesome he got to see his mom today. And to be able to tell her how many friends he's got from all over the world.....priceless!

The Little guy won the whole shebang! Schoolwide! He got a 500.00 GC for Toys R Us and he has over 250 postcards from all over the world! AMAZING! ECF ers are the kindest folks in the world! The orient came through first with over 56 cards! Next was Canada (Thanks to a certain DJ <wink wink>) and the rest were from all parts of UK and America , Please let me say that one kind person sent not one but 6 from Malaysia and even drew pics of what the gingerman was doing! We are making a scrapbook and he wanted to know how all these people knew him. I told him the angels told them that Angel Gabriel needed friends and look what happened......................You all are Angels!
Today is an amazing day, his Momma enters rehab (again) please pray that she does this for my Gabriel.
God Bless each of you and know that your kindness is not unseen or appreciated. I cherish the postcards as much as he.

Wow!! That is amazing and heart warming and so cool! We have a fantastic community here and I'm happy to see everyone pull through once again
I wish your daughter all the luck in the world as I have been there, done that, and gotten the t-shirt myself. As a veteran of the detox centers and various rehab programs I can say that it works if you work it! Nothing is harder than those first few months clean and the emptiness you feel inside is crushing. But once you get through that, you come out the other side of it with a totally new lease on life. When we are in active addiction, there is no such thing as "no" (even when we intend to say no, addiction just doesn't work that way). Once one is clean, they then have the extremely liberating choice of saying "no" because their body does not physically need it anymore, and now one must retrain their mind to think the same! It's an uphill battle but one that is so, totally worth it. I am on Methadone Maintenance as well, and highly suggest it (if appropriate) that your daughter look into it if she hasn't already. It really does save lives. Aside from that, lots and lots of therapy, and a strong, reliable support system will get her through the hardest days and nights that are sure to come in recovery.

we have done the methadone, ciboxin (sp?) and all.................we need prayers that she will turn her will over to her higher power and I live long enough to raise this boy or see her do it.

Ah yes, the Suboxone. I was on that for about 6 months and it was not for me. The Methadone gave me my life back, in all honesty. If she's up for it, another go on the Methadone can't hurt? I will pray that she finds her higher power, whatever that may be for her, and for her boy and all of your family. Addiction is terrible
but there is hope and you're lookin at it! My boyfriend is on Methadone Maintenance as well, we are both doing fantastically, I'm in school for my career and he is working and will be going back to school once I'm working in my field -- I pray and hope to God that she will find her way in this world as well.Amen!
