I have been thoroughly enjoying vaping. I don't do it to help quit smoking (BTW..congrats to those that DO!), I do it merely for the enjoyment. As a cigar smoker who still enjoys cigars, vaping is a fantastic alternative to when a cigar is inconvenient. It's so nice just vaping, enjoying the thick smoke and a delicious flavor. As a bonus, I do it at work. So I can essentially get almost the same enjoyment as a cigar while I work. What's not to like? :)

My current gear was chosen for the simplicity, durability and clouds of smoke. I'm currently using a Vapor Zeus, and quite enjoy it. Fill and vape. That's it. However the expensive shipping to Canada ($25 flat rate) and cost of cartos (~7 USD each 3.5ml carto, which lasts for ~12 fills ea.) has me looking for something else...perhaps something to supplement my Zeus.

My criteria:

-Quality, durable
-LOADS of vapor
-Must be able to buy in Canada
-Preferably something in kit form...I'm still new, so piecing together something might be a bit much for me..but I'm open to suggestions.

The wife has been enjoying her Joyetech E-Roll, and I must admit it's a slick piece of kit. It has given her ZERO issues and has worked every day as advertised. So I'm half wondering if a Joyetech e-VIC (or other) might be for me? I've not seen one or used one personally. Any comments?

If you have a great kit, please let me know. I'm not scared of spending on a quality set-up.

Thanks...and I'm enjoying the community thus far..

The eVic is a great first upgrade, and readily available, even from retail shops. If you don't want to fiddle, buy a couple of Protanks, EVODs, Vivi Novas, whatever, and a few packs of replacement coil heads for them, and they're pretty much fill and vape, change the coil when it stops giving you the flavour and vapour you want. The variable voltage/wattage will step up your vape game, too, as you can dial in more or less coil heat to more effectively vaporize your liquid to your taste. It won't be directly responsible for the amount of vapour you put out, that's up to you and what you screw onto the eVic.

I have a bunch of other gear now, and I still use the eVic frequently. I love that it doesn't need a separate battery charger, even though I have one and plenty of batteries, the display on it is wonderful, and it's never failed me yet. If it has one flaw, it's that it's not nearly as rugged as some other mods, so if you're clumsy or prone to taking your stuff to bangy/clangy places, you might break it.

Greetings; Welcome to the forum, RRocket. :toast:

I can't say anything helpful about ciga-like style e-cigarettes, because I've used clearomizers exclusively up until this point. I do know someone who uses an eRoll and, while she likes it, everytime I see her vape I find myself thinking that her eRoll doesn't produce nearly enough vapour to suit my taste.

Selecting and learning how to use a cartomizer or clearomizer (combined with an APV battery like an EVic) isn't all that hard, and you'll definitely find something that will give you the kind of vaping experience that you're after.

If you get an EVic, then you'll need to select a cartomizer or clearomizer to go with it (plus eliquid, of course, and some replacement heads). I personally use Davide clearomizers made by Anyvape, and I would be happy to recommend this model to a new user. They're well designed, well made, easy to use, and they kick out awesome vapour. H

owever, as with an vaping device, YMMV, so if you do get a Davide and you're not happy with it, try something else that's popular and well-recommended on ECF, like a Pro Tank (2 or 3), or a Vivi Nova, etc, etc. All these devices are clearomizers -- I know a lot of very experienced ECF members swear by cartomizers, and I definitely intend to try one at some point.

Regards
Glenn

Hi RRocket ... I use an eVic at home and an eRoll when on the go ... the eVic pictured on the left has been shortened and has a 3ml tank on top of an ECA (they are similar to the eRoll tanks @ $1 each). Plus, the eVic set up like this uses the same common atomizers as the eRoll.

I have tons of the 3ml tanks in use, as I like to rotate a dozen flavours ... I wouldn't change a thing starting over :2cool:

Cheers

I just notice that Joyetech release a new one today...the eCom.

I might wait for some reviews......but the eVic does look great.

Joyetech eVic starter Kits, Vapor Intelligent Cigarette

eCom atomizer adopts the peculiar thread, connnecting exclusively to eCom battery in a brand new fashion. Besides, eCom battery is not compatible with other atomizers either.

Hmmm.... proprietary junk. Nice looking unit though.

I don't know why they don't keep the Ego/510 connector. A VW ego would sell like hotcakes. This thing? Not so much I reckon.

Thanks for all the comments! While I really like the eVic, I think it has a few more bells and whistles than I may need. I've also read that they can be a bit fragile.

I tried an eGo-CC today, and while the design was very nice and compact and it seemed totally bomb-proof, the amount of vapor and overall flavor was quite a bit less than my V4L Vapor Zeus. I'm guessing this has to do with the Zeus' 5v power vs. the ~3.2v of the eGo-CC??

At this point I think I'm leaning towards an eGo-Twist with a Kanger Mini ProTank II on top.

Comments??

Hey bud,

I just got into vaping 2 months ago. Had no idea what to start off with, was a little overwhelmed. I had set in my mind I was buying an Ego-C Twist, so I went into the local store here to buy one. When talking with the guy behind the counter, I could tell he knew a lot about this stuff. He made some good points and convinced me the Ego-C Twist was not what I wanted.

Most people recommend the Ego batteries for beginners. They are easy to use, stylish and compatible with almost anything. This was the reason why I wanted it. No hassle, just vaping. He told me about the iTaste VV. I held both in my hand, and really liked the ergonomics of the iTaste VV better. It's square, not round, so it doesn't roll off tables. It can be stood up straight and fits most lanyards and cases like the Ego (for travel). What the iTaste had that the Ego did not was the variable wattage. While you can adjust the voltage on the Ego, you cannot adjust the wattage. I find myself never using the voltage on my iTaste, only the wattage, so that definately came in handy. In case you care, it also has a puff counter built in the LCD. I don't really use it, but it's there. Another cool feature with the iTaste VV is the ohms reader. I find myself using this very often as you can tell if the ohms on your atomizer are changing. If I'm not mistaken, the wattage on the iTaste adapts to the ohms on the atomizer and does all the work for you.

With that said, I ordered a second iTaste VV yesterday, in another color. The charge on the iTaste (800mah) lasts me all day, so I didn't really need a second battery. I purchased one just to have another color lol. I considered a mech mod, but didn't want to go through the hassle of rebuildables or battery safety. Oh, the iTaste VV also has USB passthrough, so you can vape while it's charging. Another awesome feature.

Some people may be biased towards the Ego's, but I personally didn't see any advantage to it over the iTaste instead of being cheaper in price. I recommend purchasing it from the websites below if your interested. I just ordered from FastTech and their prices are unbeatable.

$39.54 Authentic iTaste VW V3.0 7-in-1 Variable Voltage Rechargeable 800mAh Electronic Cigarettes Set - vv-3.0 at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping <--- comes with 5 iClear 16's to get you started!

https://www.canvape.com/Innokin-iTaste-3-0-VV-VW-iclear16-kit-eGo-Threads-p/itaste163.0.htm <-- same as above! CanVape ships wayy faster, Chameleon color is cool and hard to find

Innokin iTaste VV V3.0 Express Kit <-- I purchased my first VV here, didn't know about CanVape at the time, a little cheaper here but no iClear 16s with it. No big deal if you prefer a different clearomizer

Some add-ons for it...

I prefer to use the KangerTech EVODs with it, I prefer it over the ProTank 2. Luckily, they take the same atomizers so you can use both and buy replaceable coils/heads for them. Makes replacing them EASY!

https://www.canvape.com/product-p/evod.htm

https://www.canvape.com/Protank-Replacement-Coils-p/procoiltank.htm <-- works for ProTank and EVOD

Good luck with whatever you choose!

Greetings; Sounds like a good combo. I bought an SVD via EBay a couple months ago, but the seller never sent it (I was ......!), but I might buy one because they look pretty good. Check out the PBusardo SVD YouTube review.

Have you thought about the PT3, which is a dual coil bottom coil design that looks interesting. And there are other new dual coil bottom coil clearos, like the Davide BDC and the Aspire, which are getting very good feedback on ECF.

Good luck!
