Hi there,
Ok... i've been vaping on a G6 ecig with a mini tank and need to upgrade....like yesterday!!! I don't plan on buying a new mod every other week so I want something dependable and good looking that's going to last me awhile. I want something not too bulky and need glass or metal tanks for the fruity acidic juices. I would love a tank that has a cool design on it, as well as basic tanks too. VV and VW would be good. I've looked at so many reviews and videos that my head is spinning! I'm just looking for some solid direction so I can get something ordered, and I don't even know what I need beyond a batt and tanks. Not saying I'm not willing to research...just wondering where some of you started and what you're really happy you purchased...I'd love to pull the trigger on something tonight and get the real vaping experience rolling! Any females have a system that's solid but cool looking too? I'm desperate!! Thanks! I haven't been around long but love you guys already!!

Hi - what price range are you looking at? And when you say "bulky," do you mean like over all thickness or length?

ETA: And telling us about your vaping habits would be helpful too. Do you vape most often at home? When you go out socially? Can only grab a quick vape on your work break?

I can spend some money but would like to keep it around or under $100, before juice. By bulky I mean thickness....something more sharpie sized or a bit larger. Thickness isn't a huge issue, just a preference. Length isn't really an issue. I vape mainly at home, heavily right now, and have the G6 for car and going out. Thanks.

Honestly, the most bang for your buck would be a Joyetech eGo Twist or Vision Spinner, they are very similar. That would leave more in your budget for tanks, juice and other "delivery systems" (which are the devices that hold the juice and delivers it to the heating element to be vaporized).

Personally a ego twist is what I like , I take mine to work and if you get a 900mAh or a1100 mAh it will last you at least 10 hr with light to moderate vaping and you can put just about any tank on it from ce4, vivi novas or lava tanks , it will make you Happy.

At minimum, you will need two batteries (unless you plan on vaping your G6 while the new battery charges) and a charger. I highly recommend you get the brand names for the batteries: Joyetech (Twist) or Vision (Spinner). There are a lot of clones available, but people seem to have more problems come up with those.

This is currently the best priced kit I know of: http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm With this you have the choice of Twists, Spinners or one of each.

Unfortunately, the Clearos (which they are calling cartos for some reason) are not safe with tank cracking liquids, so you would have to get something else. (ti's still good to have the other toppers to use with juices that are safe.)

Glass tanks can get pricey. IBTanked plain ones are about $28.00, which I think are the least expensive. Going up in price are Bedazzled, High Desert Vapes, Phinniac and others (these are the most popular that come immediately to mind). With all of these tanks you will need to factor in replacement cartos (<$2. each).

A less expensive option safe with juices is polypro tanks. A number of vendors sell them, but High Desert just started carrying some in different colors: Poly Pro Tank - High Desert Vapes

Another option is a Vivi Nova with an all metal body tube: http://www.myvaporstore.com/MINI_Vision_Vivi_Nova_Tank_System_Metal_Tube_p/vs-mvnm.htm

If you don't mind it being a little bigger around, I would suggest the variable watt Vamo for $40. It has many performance advantages over the ego type models. First it's VW, which is "set and forget" technology. It automatically adjusts the power output to match your preference as the resistence changes which VV does not. Second, it has a 5 amp switch which means you can use any atty/carto/tank on it unlike the weaker 2.5 amp switch on the ego twist and spinner. Third, it will save you money in the long run because the batteries cost about $11 instead of the $25+ for the twist/spinner batteries. You can also make the Vamo physically smaller by using just one 18350 battery. Here is a review and a site that sells them:

VAMO Variable Volt/Watt APV V2

Good Luck

Allow me to interject a reality check when it comes to bigger mods. Yes, you can get a VAMO for about $40 if you shop around, but that's for just the body. You will still need at least 2 batteries (about $7 each) and a charger (I got a cheap one for about $13).

So now you are at: $69.00 - for one APV. You will always need back-up, and I don't mean just extra batteries. The VAMO is a very nice mod, but, heaven forbid, what are you going to vape if you drop it, leave it somewhere or have a problem with it? At some point, maybe even very soon, you might want to move up to a more advanced mod, but you can't go wrong with having a Twist/Spinner in your back-up arsenal.

I think the Vamo is a little bigger than what I'm wanting at this point. Thanks for the link to the review though. If I start small, there's nowhere to go but up!!....and I'm sure this is just the beginning for me and I will want to add to the collection as time goes by...hard to resist something new and shiny!

I agree that the spinner or twist would be a good backup. But the Vamo is quite rugged as I've dropped mine many times without a hitch. And for the total package with batteries and charger, $70 is about right which is about the same cost as an ego twist starter kit. But from a long term standpoint, as with any PV, when it's time to replace batteries, $11 for the Vamo batteries instead of $25+ for the spinner/twist batteries adds up to saving money. Plus the Vamo batteries will most likely last twice as long as the ego batteries before needing replaced. And none of that touches on the overall performance advantages of the Vamo.

But I do understand that some people like small PV's regardless of any other considerations.

Well, think I'll go with the spinner/twist special you posted Ocelot, based on reviews and primarily size. just a lower profile and a good place to start for me. I was thinking of getting one of each but will probably do both spinners in the 1300 mAh, then pick up some of the colored poly tanks, which are pretty sharp looking, for those cracking liquids. I'd like some nice glass mouth pieces too. Are they an option with the spinner? Oh, and are there any coupon codes I can use with this special? I appreciate everyones' input. Just what I needed. Thanks again

I t looks like My Vapor Store has couple to try: http://www.retailmenot.com/view/myvaporstore.com

I'm not sure about High Desert Vapes.

ETA: A Spinner has the same threading as an eGO - it can use any 510 drip tip (mouth piece).

ETAA: For one of a kind glass tips, check out Teena's thread. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modder-accessories-supplier-forum/353286-glass-drip-tips-charms-e-cigarettes.html
