So I stopped at a new to me vape shop in town today. I was impressed. He makes his own juices, and is a knowledgeable fella. He had several genuine and clone goodies there, but unfortunately no Cyclones. I more or less decided I wanted the Cyclone, but the Nimbus intrigued me. I really wish it had adjustable airflow, but whatever. It had a small chamber, which is what I am after as a flavor hound, not a cloud chaser. He had the real deal, and a clone. I looked at both, and while I saw the benefits of the real deal over the clone, I decided to step into RDAs with the clone. I figured for $15 it was a chance I would take. I have a Russian and love the flavor, draw, and TH.
I went ahead and just started with a single micro coil, 28Ga at 2 ohms, and wicked it simply with rolled cotton, about an inch long. The TH was very heavy. It didn't choke me out, but it was stout, too stout. I have played with my wattage and have found I like the flavor best at 7.5 watts. I played with my wick quite a bit I found I liked it best with a lot of cotton in the well and a very slight bit over the top of the coil. I moved the coil down low to the deck, and found it helped with the TH, and positioning the air hole right at the coil helped with flavor. The draw is too tight, and I wonder if this is helping or hurting my builds. The genuine Nimbus had 2 air holes, and the clone has 1, but it is bigger.
I am hoping to see some builds and get some ideas. I want a tad less throat hit, and I am striving for more flavor. To me the dripper just doesn't do anything better than the kayfun style attys. I have an Aqua on the way (should be here very soon) and a KFL+ ordered, as well as a kayfun 3.1 clone on the way. I will be playing with my new Nemesis, so getting my builds perfect is going to be important to me. Frankly, a dripper is something I really want to work on, as I have read about how they do everything better. But at this point, I can't justify even spending $100 on a Cyclone if it doesn't get much better than this.
Any tips and/or advice on improvements with dripper builds will be GREATLY appreciated.
TIA
