Bristow, Ok.
Hey all,

I just got my GGTS today and she's beautiful (#78).

Perhaps I'm a bit dense, but when I put my single 18650 3.7v battery (negative end down), and start tightening up the top, the 510 atomizer I have on it starts up...and the button isn't depressed, it's locked in place! What am I doing wrong? :(

That is really strange. I have been looking mine over trying to figure out what would cause something like that to happen and I can't see anything that would cause that. I just put on my atomizer then tighten it down to fit my battery and it works fine. I wish I could help. Sorry.:(

What condition is your shrink wrap on the battery in? If it is torn a little you are shorting out on the side wall. Maybe you could try putting the atty on after you tighten down on the battery.

That was it! The shrink wrap was all mangled (due to my own eagerness to put it in) lol. Thanks so much vapn!

Glad to be of service!!! (Well thank Lisa too... she thought of it first...) In the future take off the atty cap and the extra sleeve and THEN put your battery in and then replace those parts... This will help you get it past that ridge and keep the wrap in good shape. And don't force it because there is a tight tolerance due to differences in battery sizes.

vapn and stormy...you are the first witnesses to my first vape....absolutely everything I expected!!! Worth the wait!

Now I just have to figure out the AFS

You can always PM me for additional help on that one.... its got a good learning curve to it. But so worth it.... There is no going back to dripping after mastering the AFS... hope you have good results with it.

I believe Imeo is going to enlarge the ID slightly to accomodate the variances that are common amongst the 18650's. We discovered today that my UltraFire's do not fit very well.

I recommend anyone that has damaged wrapping, especially on the conductor that goes down the side of the battery to either discard them or cover the exposed area with perhaps electrical tape. I'm not positive but that could cause a short before the protection circuit and not be a good thing.

If they don't just "drop in" then they are too large (in my opinion) and you'll eventually rub right through the wrapping. Others can chime in but that's my .02 worth. :)

Hey Rob, those are the ones I have! It was a little bit of a pain getting them in. Any suggestions for another brand of 18650's?

Oops...I meant first vape on a GG!
That makes a lot more sense - I thought you'd been way too active to be a newbie to vaping....... It's 2:30am, that's my excuse for being slow....:D

Good plan. It's never a good idea to force them in like this and if you're not sure, don't use them. Glad Imeo is listening. :)

I must admit, I hadn't tried my red 3000mAh ones in the TS yet because I don't actually sell them. The 2500mAh blue ones are snug but ok though.
