Help? Mod not hitting hard + getting way too hot...

Hi all.
To preface, I'm using a Nemesis mod, NXJO 18650 battery, and Mutation X atty.

Just over the last couple of hours, I'm getting super shallow/lame hits, producing very little vapor and just not feeling good. Also, the button is getting very hot which it never has before. Wondering if it's something to do with the battery? I've checked all of the connections and everything seems perfect, but something is off regardless.

Anyone experience this before? Any help out there? Much appreciated in advance.

Cheers,
Alex

clean your mod, contacts, threads, firing button, spring, everything.

I cleaned everything apart from the atty. Will rebuild tomorrow, hopefully my issue is in a bad build or something similar.

chomper33, it's the NXJO IMR 18650 - 3.7v, 2500MAH, 35A battery. It's high-drain and supposedly rated down below .2ohms, from what I've read. Have a pair of VTC5's on the way, just haven't arrived yet.

The MXJO's are likely the same battery that the purple 2500mah 35A efests are, the 20A LG HE2's. At 0.28Ω you're drawing 15A off of that battery, which is fine since it's 75% of its continuous rating. I would suspect you have a short occurring somewhere. Take it all apart, clean everything and rebuild ASAP.

I just cleaned everything for the second time tonight - and made sure everything is nice and tight. You think a rebuild will do it?

After the cleaning, it's still doing it? If so, I would venture that it is directly related to the build. Kanthal is cheap, it wouldn't hurt to try a rebuild.

ETA: Also check to make sure the spring in the switch isn't shot.

Yep, even after the cleaning. That's why it seems so bizarre. My coils look pretty disgusting, I'll put money on it being a bad build. I'll post tomorrow with the results... cross your fingers.

Thanks for the help.

Good news (possibly)! I took apart the button config completely, re-adjusted the spring, tightened it down even more, and it seems to be working! Something probably got loose, I'm guessing the negative pin the spring activates. But we seem to be on top of the world now... thanks for the help, everyone.

Cheers.

Had a feeling it had to do with the spring. Glad you got it fixed!
