Help my coil is making a crackling noise!

I had a look at the evod, but it says the batteries can be dangerous, it seems to have the capability of mtl as well as sub ohm so maybe that's why the battery is so powerful. I'm thinking that if I can find one that's just mtl the battery might not be so powerful and therefore safer? I don't really know. I'd like to be able to buy American because I don't trust Chinese products. I asked about the warrenty because there is noting wrong with the product per se I just don't think it's right for me. Anyway I've taken up enough of your time so thanks again kind sir.

Any mod that is capable of sub ohming has that warning on it. For instance your PockeX would carry the same warning on that site because it sub ohms (0.6 Ohms) if you put your atomizer in it. If you pick a device that is capable of sub ohming, and the device has a built in battery, then it will have safeguards to protect you, and it will be fine. The sub ohming vs. MTL thing is all about the atomizer. In fact if you MTL on a battery/mod that is designed for both then you are being safer than doing MTL on a device that is strictly designed for MTL. Think of it like buying a car. You could drive that car at 100 MPH if you wanted to because that is within safe operating range. But you don't have to. In fact you are safer driving it at 35 MPH, even though it is built so that it can go faster, because you aren't putting as much stress on it.

In this situation a device like the EVOD is like buying a little two door hatchback. Yeah, you can drive it on the freeway if you need to. But it's a great little car for driving around town and running errands. It's cheap and it does the job for you.

I think you are worrying a bit unnecessarily. Though I think we all go through that battery moment, where we start to worry about that stuff. If you get a stick it will most likely be an internal battery, though I've seen a couple rechargable ones. But either way, as long as you stick to approved batteries and devices (depending on what you choose) and have a safe charger, you should be fine. Really, the people who blow up batteries are usually doing dumb stuff with them or have a fake. You might want to check out Mooch's blog Index | E-Cigarette Forum, it's very informative and will give you excellent advice about batteries, etc.

Though my last set came with a "Do not use in e-cigs," on it though it was the exact same company and battery.... I guess they are catching on to the *really not that many but we will publicise the hell out of this," e-cig and battery moments... I'd say just stick with an internal battery for now. Look for something that has at least a 2000 mAh battery built in. There are a bunch of devices out there. I never buy devices from vape stores. It's so much cheaper online, you can get two of them for the same price if you are willing to wait a few days for delivery.

Thanks for the information, the pockex does have an internal battery a li po one and I read that it is the most dangerous that's when I started to worry because the pockex doesn't have really have big air vents only very narrow ones and if the battery started overheating there was nowhere for the gases to escape to and it can blow up. Although it does has safety features I just thought suppose they fail. I was perfectly fine until I read that article.

I really don't know what to do know the pocke does have an internal battery but it's a li po which is supposed to be the most dangerous one. So even tough it has safety featues it does still worry me abit. I 'm just thinking it the thing overheats or starts becoming stable it'll blow up because there isn't much of a vent for it to escape to. Maybe I should just stop worrying and stick with it, I really don't know. Think I'll sleep on it anyway, I'm in the UK and it's pretty late so goodnight

Internal Lipo batteries are quite safe. Unless you decide to use a drill or hammer on it, there is no need for particular concern. Just as in the recalled Samsung S8, any product with an internal battery can fail if there is an issue with construction or QC. If you carry a cellphone with you without worry, a mod with an internal battery should be without worry as well. Those replaceable 18650 batteries are also Li based and not all that different than a "Lipo" pack, the only advantage is the battery housing is metal, unlike the softer space conforming structure of a Lipo pack. They are used in battery packs for cordless tools, laptops, and even cars. Again, if you use those without worry, I'd view this the same. Recharging properly also avoids risk.

You mentioned buying from a US manufacturer, but unfortunately unless you are willing to spend several hundred dollars on an upper end, handmade mod, you will not have much to find. The company ProVape that used to make excellent and rugged mods for mtl use went out of business this year. Their mods which used t be in the $100-200 range were selling for $30 towards the end of their business life. Everything else in the general consumer affordable price range is made in China. Again, same story with your laptop or cellphone, but there it is possible that a US company specified assembly and used their own QC to assure compliance for sale under their brand name.

I'm going to agree that finding just the right mod, depending on what you want, it may be difficult to find. I think somone said on this thread (maybe another) that you can get fasttech stuff fairly rapidly using an e-ticket for shipping? Also, fasttech's stuff will be more inexpensive, so at customs you'd only have to declare what is on the shipping ticket, so you will likely pay less customs, if you are even stopped at all. You may be, but it would be a way of saving money in two regards, for a week-ish shipping time, which isn't so bad. You could order clones of the two best RTA/RTDA tanks that you find and desire, and there isn't' a reason not to try it, I believe Fasttech takes returns.

Yes you are quite right, I don't know why I got in such a panic really, as it does have safety features, and I am being careful with it. I've decided to stick with it for now and am going to buy a special wallet to put it in when it needs charging.So I will keep this until it needs replacing and get either the kanger evod or something similar. So all is well now and the good thing is I haven't even wanted tobacco.
