I just started vaping 10 days ago, so i'm totally new at this. My joye Ego kit came with 2 attys plus i ordered an extra one (the XL Ego cone) as back up. Unfortunately, though i really liked the XL ego cone, it died on me in a week. Greenhouse is replacing it since they have a 1 yr. warranty which is good, but i have to return it and wait for the replacement. i want to order a bunch of back up attys asap since i only have 2 small attys left and my boyfriend and i are sharing them.

Can anyone recommend any good attys here in the states for my joy Ego at decent prices? I was going to order more from greenhouseone since they have good prices: (a 5 pack of attys for 15 bucks), but the shipping cost is 15.00 since they ship from china, plus it takes a week to get here. i'm hesitant reordering an atty from them since the other one died so fast.

I've been going to other sites, but i'm confused about the compatability... a lot of them are for the 510's and i don't know if those will work with my ego. my batts are [FONT="]650mAh Batteries, so what do i get? what's the difference between "low resistance" and reg. ones?

Also, do different attys give better throat hit, last longer, hold more juice? Should i rotate everyday between attys? Is it bad to vape the same atty every day? I just want to get quality attys and learn to maximize their life span. I'm lost as to what back up attys would be best and where to get them. Can anyone recommend the types i need and a good reputable company in the U.S?

Thanx

oh and by the way, i am soooooooooooo full of cancer-less glee to have entered the vaping world. Been vaping for only 10 days and love it. Didn't think the transition would be easy, but i took to it right away and already saved sooooooooo much money from buying analogs. I live in nj/nyc area and in jersey packs cost 8-10 and in NYC they just went us to 14/pk! Between my boyfriend and i, we were spending between 500-600 a month in analogs! In just a week, the starter kit and all the juices we bought paid for themselves. I even found my "go-to" juice on my first order. All i need now are a bunch of attys in case these 2 die on me and a good method in atty cleaning.
I can actually smell now and plan on renting an industrial steam cleaner to get out the trapped analog stank still lingering in my carpet....it's driving me crazy! i feel like a blood hound now...lol

The $15 shipping isn't actually so bad @ $3 per atty. The best stateside place I know of is HappySmokes @ $4.99 each: 510 Atomizer Sale - $4.79 : HappySmokes.com, The Solution to your electronic cigarette needs.. Just make sure you get the EM type, as opposed to the SLB (so worth the $.20 extra).

Any 510 atomizer will work with your eGo. LR = Low Resistance, something you should at least try with your 650mAh batteries. You'll definately notice some additional horsepower.

What you might try otherwise are the Mega attys; they won't accomodate more juice, but the Mega carts they're used with will: Three Joye 510 Spare Atomizers

Here's a pretty good, simple means of cleaning/maintenance:

I read somewhere that the LR attys tend to die faster. Has that been your experience?

Yes and yes. All 510 attys are produced in China and imported here--which is why the FDAs ongoing seizure of shipments at port of entry is troubling, to say the least. And yes, LR atties burn hotter, die younger. Tip: keep 'em wet, even if you risk the occasional overfill. Better to clear out a flooded atty now and again than dry-burn it to death and throw it away.

So is the benefit of a LR atty more vapor or better throat hit? i'm all about throat hit...the vapor i get now with pg80vg20 is fine for me. i tried a 50/50 mix with the same liquid and it really made a difference in throat hit and flavor....made the juice taste quite different. I got some good throat hit from the ego XL cone atty i ordered with with my kit, but it died in a week. i'm not sure how i killed it, but i did get a lot of gurgling.....i didn't use the filler...i dripped directly onto the bridge.

As for the FDA, i need to learn more about all this FDA hoopla...i know the basics about their ridiculous report regarding pg, but that's about it. Where can i find out more info. about what the FDA is doing and the on going controversy? Why don't any U.S companies produce pv's/parts here? Do the chinese have all patent rights? What about the juice? Aren't there u.s companies brewing their own juice? If the juice is the issue with the FDA, why seize shipments on parts?

We all should bombard obama with mass mailings of pv donations and a big stash of juice...lol...if he transitions from analogs to vaping, we'd be in the clear. He says he "occasionally" smokes....yea right! .....with all that job stress, that oval office must be filled with some nasty ashtray stank.

The reduced resistance of an LR atty will result in a greater amount of current flowing through the heating coil in the atty, and that basically means more of everything--more vapor, hence more of the goodies that hit the back of your throat.

If I were you, I'd (A) use all PG (better throat hit and flavor), or maybe toss in 10% VG (better vapor), and (B), I'd keep on drippin':headbang:...get rid of the carts altogether and get yourself some drip tips. These are the best ones on the planet; they're pricey, but the shipping is only $1.25 and they'll last you pretty much forever: Super T Manufacturing, Innovative manufacturer of electronic cigarette products.

On the dead atty thing, it sounds like you might have passed out briefly from the throat hit and ran the atty dry. That'll do it. Keep 'em wet.

If you want a not only a crash course on the FDA situation but a knife to cut through all the bulls#!t, you might look at a few of Mike Siegel's blog entries. They look intimidating at first glance, but each is relatively short--and you'll soon know more valid science on the issue than the entire US Senate put together: The Rest of the Story: Tobacco News Analysis and Commentary
