So it looks like Joye is switching to selling eGo's with a 1 piece atty/cone combo as opposed to the 510 style + cone. Anyone heard of this? I had the choice to get an "eGo atty" or a "classic atty" and I went with the classic since I'm familiar with the 510 stuff and have some extra 510 attys already. My question is whether or not the new eGo atty is better than the classic in any way, or if its performance is the same and just gets rid of the need for the cone. The two models are the same price, so if the eGo atties are better I'm going to try and switch my order.

From evapers.com:
"Joye has upgraded their eGO kits so they now come with the eGO atomizers, rather than the 510/eGO classic style atomizer. The new eGO atomizers are one piece rather than 2 pieces, a cone and atomizer."

Whether they are "better" is definitely debateable, I found that it depends entirely on the flavour: My coffee espresso tastes best in one of the cylindrical meGos, Butterscotch, which I otherwise always found too sweet, best in a conical meGo, tobacco Absolut in an e2, Cocos-Menthol or fennel in a plain 510 … in the end, you have to try out yourself and find what you like best in which atty.

I ended up talking to Rob from evapers about it, figured I'd post my findings here for anyone who's interested. He says you can't really go wrong with either, and they both produce the same amount of vapor and throat hit. The eGo atomizer requires a different cart that holds more liquid, and provides a lighter draw compared to the classic style/cone combo. Also, LR atties aren't currently offered in the new style. Since there isn't much of a difference in performance, and I have a few spare 510 atties kicking around, I decided to stick with the classic style. The classic style atties are also less expensive to replace than the new style. I'd imagine as time goes by and the 510 gets phased out by the eGo, this new style will start to become mainstream, in which case I'll just start buying them instead.

Ummmmmmmm, I sure hope that both will remain available in the future. To say they are both the same is a gross interpretation of the truth IMHO. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo.../113972-ego-mega-attys-carts.html#post1731392

IMHO if you are looking for an 801 vape, then by all means the megas may be your cup of tea. OTOH if you are looking for a 510 vape, then the megas are not the way to go.

All that being said, many do not feel the difference the cone provides, but the purist sure do. It is definitely not purely aesthetics.
