This is new for me, but I need help desperately. I smoked for 32 years and ended up with copd. I tried every thing there was to quit until I tried an e cig. I use a ego c twist with pg juice. I quit analogs right then and there. But after about a week I started breaking out on my face. Bad itching and burning and then bumps would appear and get bigger and fill up with puss. Awful and ugly. My supplier told me I was allergic to pg. So she put me on vg with 1.8 nicotine. That didn't help either. I still kept with it and suffered for 120 days of not smoking analogs. Which is a miracle for me. My pulmonologist says my numbers have improved and I am doing much better overall. BUT....I couldn't take the breakouts anymore. Went back to analogs 2 days ago and my face is clearing up. I really want to go back vaping. Cigarettes are going to kill me. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A suggestion would be to have a smoother transition than the cold turkey route. It may be putting your body under extreme pressure and its reacting in a similarly extreme way. This is a wild guess however and visiting a dermatologist is def an option to consider.

Do wish you good luck! Hopefully you can find a solution that doesn't include ciggs.

yeah go see a doc before you do anything else. Also, some flavorings use pg so maybe try some of heather's heavenly vapes purity line, they are 100% pg free.

Did the acne last as long as you have been vaping? Did it ever go away for short periods of time or was it a pretty much constant thing?

I have heard that acne is a side effect to quitting, I personally haven't experienced it.

I got some break outs about two weeks after I stopped smoking and started vaping. Some big zits that hurt too. They went away after a few days, then I got another break out about a month after. Again, they went away and no problems since. I've heard it's pretty common to have acne or break outs after stopping smoking but it sounds like you might have another issue and a trip to the doctor is probably the best thing.

I don't know a lot about e-cigarettes, but I have severe allergy issues and have put a dent in the student loans of a few dermatologists and allergists in my day.

Have you tried any over the counter allergy medication? Not a doctor, nor am I a PG/VG expert, but based on my experiences with many other allergies, Benedryl should at least "take the edge off" - especially the itching (provided you're not allergic to the medicine of course). It's available over the counter and relatively cheap.

I wouldn't recommend taking it for an extended period of time, but if it helps at all, at least you can be relatively certain it is in fact an allergy of some kind - to what, who knows? Then you can invest the time and $$$ (it can be spendy) to be tested for allergies.

Hi, all. Thanks for the responses and suggestions. I quit before for 90 days and had no breakouts so I don't think this is quit zits. I get very red and itchy between my eyes, on my eyelids, sides of my nose(cheeks) and on my nose. Then the bumps come out and they are hard and itch like crazy then after a few days they fill up with puss and then start oozing. It started when I started vaping and has not let up. Can't take benedryl because of copd. Did try some over the counter remedies but nothing has worked. Have tried vg with no flavoring but didn't help.

Are you allergic to glycerine in hand creams or soaps? If not then it isn't the VG, now that vendor may be using PG nic even in VG juices, I'd see if that's the case.

I'd also check with your doctor to see if anything in the juice may be interacting with any medications you are taking and, try to think of anything else that has caused a similar breakout for you. Might be a clue as to what that and the juice have in common that's causing the problem.
