Hey everyone. I've using Aspire non Nautilus Non Atlantis BVC coils. 1.6 ohm. Volt rating shown on coil is 3.0-4.2v. Aspire says anything under 15w is good. Well did calculating and up to 4.8v would fit that wattage.
Help?

You have not asked a question.

If you want to know what voltage to use try 3.7 volts and adjust from there.

My default battery setting is 4.2v. I bought an Aspire VV battery goes up to 4.8. I want just a bit more punch. Was thinking maybe 4.4-4.5? Does that seem safe?

Just adjust one step at a time and see how it tastes.

Sometime when you raise the voltage it works pretty good for a while but then start getting dry hits because the wicking can't keep up, in which case you need to reduce voltage.

It is rated for a reason that being that the best results will be gotten within the stated range so yes you can go over but doing so on a good head you'll shorten it's life on a bad coil you might end up with useless coil so ideally stay in the stated range. If your not getting what you need to be happy look at purchasing more appropriate hardware rather then push what you have beyond it's range :).

Basically I'm asking can I push over the 4.2v treshold listed on the coil.

You can with a BUT...

Depends on juice thickness and how you vape. As mentioned, it's preferable to up the voltage gradually and find if it works for you or not. I have found that some juices will work fine over 4.2 volts (with the same coil as you use) and with other juices or if I just chain vape like my mod is a respirator, then I get horrid taste or dry hits. I rarely go over 4.2 volts on a 1.5-1.6 ohm coil as I would have to vape much slower than I like to avoid dry hits.

Rule of thumb: Higer PG ratio juices wick faster, while higher VG juices can take a long while to wick on small atomizers. I think there's a market trend to make atomizer holes bigger, so YMMV.

Makes sense! I typically use 50/50 or 70:30 pg VG but my velvet cloud is 100% VG. However, it wicks incredibly well.

That's interesting...

Out of curiosity, is that abnormal in your experience?
This is my first full VG I've tried (I have others I've yet to try) but it's te Velvet Cloud sour skittles. It wicks super super well and performs great. According to them they do thin it with de ionized water.
In that same breath today I decided to experiment. I love the sour skittles but the taste is a bit light being full VG so I did half VC sour Skittles in my tank and half Mt Baker Ecto cooler 50:50. It taste AMAZING and throws huge clouds.

I never vaped 100% VG juice, so I can't say much else than I know VG is thicker than PG and people say it's harder to wick. I did come across a guy at a store who said he was able to vape 100% VG juice in one of the more recent Nautilus coils. He showed me how much bigger the atty holes were on his nautilus compared to mine. That's all I got.

Provari kinda rhymes with Maseratti!
They sound good together.

I'm still going to vape my 'Vari in my future Lamborghini and Ferrari. Perhaps even a Porsche 918 if I make enough money to get one :p
