I just got this yesterday and paired it with an also new Aerotank mini.

The battery keeps flashing every other hit. I first had it around 3.7v. I thought it might be flashing because I was drawing too much power? I turned it down to about 3.4v but its still doing it.

I think the coil in the Aerotank is 1.5ohm?

What am I doing wrong?

Your Spinner is likely NOT being fully charged. Spinners are very sensitive to having the correct USB pigtail. They wont get a full charge with a 510 USB charger; it has to be an EGO USB charger (with a 510 connection). Sadly, they both look identical, so its a common problem with Spinners, and the new V2s are no different.
Yes, it could be a bad head, but if it were, you'd be getting the flashing on the very first hit. Since you're getting a hit, THEN its flashing on the 2nd, it tells me your battery is actually low on charge, even if you'd charged overnight.

Caveat: its been a year since I've fixed my spinner charging issue, so I might have it backwards...510, NOT Ego, but I think its right........it should be the EGO charger, NOT the 510. Whichever one you have, its the other one. :)

Ok I changed the coil to one of the spare 2.0 ohm ones I bought and raised voltage to about 3.7. So far no flashes.

Can someone show me a link to what charger I should have? I used the one that came with my eGo T starter kit.

Creepylady, I'm not completely sure what you mean by head tightened down? Head of?

If the flashing has stopped, then it was almost certainly the coil.

The charger that came with your eGo T kit is just fine for your Spinner.

(not to take the words out of CreepyLady's mouth, but...) She just meant the coil. "Coil", "coil head", and "head" all refer to the same thing. Officially, the "coil" is the metal coil you would find inside the thing you replaced, if you were to take it apart.

edited to add: CL got to the question herself before I posted!

How did you fix it, Rodeo? The issue with my Spinner II is that it sometimes stops charging for no apparent reason. Replugging it fixes it but it doesn't stop being annoying.

Or, I guess the charger recommendation is your fix?

Yes, the correct USB pigtail Is the fix. Of course, its possible the OP has the correct one, but its simply defective. These USB pigtails are often a crap-shoot. The joyetech ones seems to be good, but most are imported and not reliable.

I too started with an EGO kit, but my charger would not charge a Spinner. I ordered a couple of these from Fast Tech which worked on Spinners. Notice they're "EGO-T" chargers. Dont know if the OP received the correct one or not with his EGO-T kit.

Additionally, in my experience this year, Kanger heads have been going on about a 20% success rate. 80% of them have been bad from the start or go bad within a day or two. Didn't have that problem last year with Kanger heads, but this year, they're definitely worse.
Had to rebuild them all. So that can certainly be a factor.

I've only used the eGo T system for the past 4 months so I'm lingo deficient :p

Also, maybe I should make a new thread, but can these new, enclosed dual coil Kanger coils be cleaned or rewicked?

I may pull apart the shorted one and look at all the parts.

They can be cleaned and re-wicked, and a lot of people will tell you that it's worth the trouble, but I'm not so sure that it is. I don't use the Aerotank, I use Kanger T3S's, but after mucking around with them a bunch, I've personally decided that it's just not worth the trouble. I just change the coil when it needs it. For me, I don't need a new hobby, and the coils are not that expensive. What's $2 a week in coils, when cigarettes were $5 (or more!) a pack? I just want my vape to work and taste great. A lot of people definitely make a hobby of it, though, and that's great! Either way, you should definitely pull apart the shorted one and look at what's inside!

(Oh, and as far as cleaning the coils, a soak in hot water and/or PGA or vodka, then rinse, will refresh them a bit.)

I can only answer your question in regards to cleaning them. I don't take them apart (I don't think they can in such a way that won't damage them permanently), but I rinse them under the tap and soak them in 96% alcohol for a few hours if needed, and give them the occasional stirring. This seems to clean them well, or at least the wicks are nice and clean again. Can't see how clean the coil is, but the taste does improve after the soak. Just make sure to rinse them well after!

OK, and one more thing...

As far as the battery being completely charged, if you have been using the same charger for a while, look inside the part where you screw the battery into. If the connection is looking kind of black and gunky, unplug it and clean it with a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol. Maybe that is part of the problem.
