Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum, just need a little help in regards to my setup.

I recently purchased a kit (from liberty flights) containing:

1 x Manual eGo 900mAh Battery
1 x Kanger EVOD 2 Clearomizer
1.5 ohm atomizers

I'm basically not getting much taste from juices I know to have taste (tested a friends e cig they tasted fine). Do I need different ohm atomizers? Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Dan

Welcome @Straf (Dan).

I'm afraid to say you've been sold a turkey.

Are you in the UK?

The Evod 2 is a dual coil clearo, it has 2 x 3.0ohm coils. To get anything out of that, you are going to need a much, much better battery. It will hardly be producing any vapor, let alone matching other products you may have tried.

I was sent the Evod 2 to review (was it nearly 18 months ago?)... I gave up with it. Total garbage. I 'ran' it on a variable power battery (a mod) and still it was useless.
None of those dual coils run nicely on eGo batteries. Whoever sold it knows that, too.

Bad luck.

Did you get it in person at a shop or online?

Thanks for replying so quickly @djsvapour

I am in the UK yes, I bought it online from Liberty Flights? It's the taste kit.

What would you recommend? I'm happy to scrap the lot if I'm being honest, I've been on cig-a-likes for about a year and just got sick of the taste and little vapor produced. I don't really have any vape shops nearby so it would be best to purchase online. Can you point me in the right direction?

Cheers,

OK, so the kit - It's

1 x Manual eGo 900mAh Battery
1 x Kanger EVOD 2 Clearomizer
1 x High Speed USB charger
1 x 10ml 1.8% XO e-liquid.

You can keep and use all of that... just not as a combo. The battery doesn't even have a high enough max (amp) limit to run the clearomizer.

If you put the Evod on a little mod (box) you should be able to get it going.

Myepack.co.uk

DNA Vapes

Bold Vape

and for liquids, these might be worth a look.

LT Ecigs

My favourites are £5.70 for 30ml.

In future, avoid the big brand stores... they will take your money, as much of it as possible and don't really offer anything any different from other shops.

In this respect Google is not your friend.

By the way. Tell your fellow vapers/smokers what is going on out there.

I know people who were paying £6.99 for liquid, £2.99 for replacement coils, £59.99 for £29.99 mods. These brands are just unstoppable.

The entire top 10 on Google search is all to be avoided. I'll let Totally Wicked off, but the rest are dreadful.

UKecigstore... some nice stuff, but way too expensive (They pay to be top, by the way and people who review their products get affiliate commission).
Kik, Vapouriz.. just junk. Total Chinese land fill.
Vype and Blu - Yes, tobacco companies looking to get £3,000 per year per ex-smoker.
Vivid - Tobacco company. Charges £4.99 for a 56p clearomizer.
Vapourlites.. um.. surprisingly improved. Still too expensive.

The most evil of course is BLU. Blu are a tobacco company. They are supporting the European BAN on many vaping products next year.
If refillable tanks are outlawed next year, who wins? BLU wins... so they can sell us Cartomizers.
Interestingly, in America, as the government are threatening a total ban, Blu are asking Vapers (on social media) to 'act now' and support pro vaping campaigns.

It's a strange world. Makes Liberty Flights seems almost acceptable.:lol:

Thanks again
@djsvapour, you're a star!

I do have one last question though. I've taken a look at the websites you've recommended for a mod box, none of them seem to tell me if they're compatible with my EVOD2 clearomizer? Or are they all compatible? Sorry I'm a total novice!!

Am I better off just buying a brand new kit from one of these places?

I will be sure to tell my friends about these scamming websites charging through the teeth.

I also already use LT for my juices, they're pretty good!

Cheers,

My wife and I used an Ego battery with an aspire k1 clearomizer. They work fine for flavor, and produce a respectable ammount of vapor for something on an ego battery. Having said that you will not be entering any cloud competitions with this. Aspire K1 Glassomizer
They are nice for mouth to lung, but you would need to drill bigger/more air holes for direct inhale.

They do work even better on a mod with more power, simply being able to set it to 4.2v will make a noticeable difference. My wife gets along just fine with it on the ego still, and does not get my desire to occasionally blow a big cloud or direct inhale on my other mod :p

So your options are 3 fold the way I see it, listed from cheapest to more expensive:

Try new tank with current battery.

Try current tank with bigger battery/more power.

Try new everything.

Keep the Evod 2's and get an istick 20W or something to fire them on. Then when they give up working get a better tank like a Nautilus mini to put on it.

Meantime if you want to use your battery and be vaping ASAP go into a B&M shop and buy some original EVOD's with regular coils - they are really great, I use them at the office on an ego battery and if you use no more than around 40VG to 50VG in your liquids and it's not mega dark in colour, they give a good all day vape and the atomizers / coils last forever and a day... if the Vg level is lower - they vape better and last a month at least for me.

I use other stuff, a coolfire 4, a sub ohm tank, a nautilus mini tank, so not my only set up, but a bog standard original EVOD is my favourite thing to put on an ego battery.

I like ukecig online, expensive but cheaper than B&M for coils and liquids if free shipping and they have some good sales, their black Friday 50% off one was amazing.... bit slow with the delivery, but I like them due to the massive range of coils, tanks and liquids they have, and they don't rebrand it and make it confusing like LF or TW, it is what it is and everything I've bought from them is good and all original and non clones....

Just about all mods (boxes and tubes) use only the thin/small 510 connection.
The Evod 2 (plus mini Protanks and other small tanks) use the EGO connection.

To use an EGO connection on a 510 mod/battery, you'd need an adapter.

I you look at this link

30W Eleaf iStick Full Kit W/O Wall Adaptor

Select and zoom in on the Pink one (2nd down) and you'll see a little adapter in front of the Eleaf box.

A 'middle of the range' box mod (like Evic VT mini or Sigelei 75w) won't come with an adapter.

I ordered this yesterday. It's just the mod.

eVic VTC Mini | e-cigarette battery mod | Joyetech UK

Those of us that got iSticks (plural) generally got the adapter.

The 'original' ones looked like this

eGo to 510 Adaptor for Electronic Cigarettes: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
