I'm going to suggest that you take a serious look at the VVPV at notcigs. I haven't gotten mine yet but, it's a top feeder rather than a bottom feeder. I have a couple Reos and I really like them and like you I did try some cheaper options first. However, you have to get used to the fact that as the bottle empties, you have to adjust how much you squeeze to feed. It's not tough to make the adjustment but, it takes a bit to learn to do it right. The VVPV feeds the same amount when you push the button every time.
