I'm struggling BAD.

Backstory....

Dx'd with Crohn's when I was 19, 3 years dx'd with MS. Been a smoker since I was 11, now i'm 38. I DO have an addictive personality. Docs had me on all kinds of opiates at 19 and I've been clean off that mess for 5 years (as I was taking more than a freakin' cancer patient, I got myself off through medical detox, as I was still in massive amounts of pain)

I'm trying to be a healthier person but DERN IT my body completely goes into shock with any change. I was a 1 1/2 pk a day of analogs. I've started with 6 nic and 15 ml vg. I tried 12 nic and 6 ml vg, but that failed miserably. Now I have these NEW symptoms and I dunno what else I can do differently.

  • SEVERE dry eyes (even after drinking half of my city's water and using all the gel eye drops that systemic (sp?) makes
  • dry sinuses after using the NetiPot, moisturizing nasal spray whilst out in public and hot compresses on my face (and eyes)
and that's just the top of my body LMAO! sooo continuing.....
  • Because the immense water consumption and my MS i'm having to wear poise pads daily
  • Just looking at food makes me poop UGH!!! I feel since i've stopped analogs, my guts have been exploding. THIS and MS don't mix (use your imagination)
  • Therefore, I haven't been able to eat, so now every joint hurts.
GAH!!!!!

I don't even want to leave the house. My husband is just sailing through the transition and it's frustrating the F outta me. The symptom that is driving me the most crazy is the SEVERE dry eye....it HURTS!!!

I cheated all day yesterday off and on and guess what my eyes didn't hurt as much...so it's definitely the vape

ANY suggestions ....

Thanks in advance

Hi @MizJenn and welcome to the forum. I don't have any answers for you, but I did look around the forum. First this link :
A list of symptoms when quitting tobacco and changing to an ecigarette | E-Cigarette Forum

I then searched for Chrons Disease and found :Are my symptoms related to vaping? Help me thred ^.^ | E-Cigarette Forum

Then the MS : Search Results for Query: Multiple Sclerosis | E-Cigarette Forum

You might find some answers in these threads.

As a new member you need to get 5 posts/replies in to get "Full Member" status and be able to access other areas of the forum (such as posting in the health section or entering in the contest thread at the top of every page). AFTER you get the 5 posts/replies then you have to wait till half past the hour for the forum to update/reset and then you are good to go.

What is the PG / VG ratio of the liquids you're using?
What are you using to vape with? topper/tank & resistance of coil or head, power source.
How much in ml are you vaping per day?
IMO, 6mg/ml & 12 mg/ml nic is quite low nic mg for a 1 1/2 pack a day smoker, 18 or so would be more representative of 1.5 packs per day. ( unless using sub ohm resistances).

    Hi and glad you joined.
Posterior blepharitis is also called meibomian gland disease. It happens due to thickening of the oils produced by the glands in the eyelid. Normally, this oil should be smooth, like olive oil. In meibomian gland disease, the oil is thick, like cream cheese, and clogs up the pores of the glands. This may lead to styes, or problems with dry eye.

Do once when waking up in morning a min. of 2 minutes. Wash cloth as hot as you can hold it. 4 each treatments at 30 second duration time = 2 min.
Guaranteed to work. It works for me. Give it a couple of weeks to try. It will take a few days to clear up the dry eye.
You may send my remittance to CASAA.
Seriously, no medial harm will come to you if you follow the link. My Ophthalmologist recommended the reading material to me.
PS. This will help with clearer permanent improvement in vision also.
    Happy vaping.

ty for getting back with me.....i don't have any styes and i pray it's not another freakin disease...i got enough of em LOL

OK here's what I'm using iStick at about 5w with a mouth to lung Nautilus (I dunno I'm new to the terms, when reading this stuff it's french to me)

I'm using Serial Clown Dripping Juice (sounds so dirty, especially when it says on the warning label to not eat, drink or have sex with the ejuice LMAO)

But it's called "Loopy" Max VG Ratio (still clueless)

    It says 15 ml

    then

    6 mg/nic

I wish all the vape shop workers here weren't so "OMFG you don't know anything GOSH"

I have MS ppl, i can't concentrate on food instructions, let alone a new world of vaping. I'm eager to learn but Jesus, everyone is so superdouchey about it.

I have chronic pancreatitis and some kind of undiagnosed colitis (very possibly Chron's). As you know, colitis of any kind can cause the runs :( I think for the next few weeks as you get past your addiction to the other chemicals in tobacco and the stress from quitting, you need to expect some turmoil. The good news is, it gets better. And the longer you're off tobacco, the better your body will feel in general. Yeah, you will still have Chron's and MS, and life will be hard. But, your lungs will feel better. Your mouth will feel better. You won't smell like cigs :). You'll get some energy back.

Could the dry eyes and mouth be at all related to the Chron's or MS? Its called Sicca syndrome. I have it, too. I use Thera Tears during the day. Before bed I put in Refresh Liquigel. The Refresh is very thick and goopy so lasts through the night pretty well.

Food is a hard one when you have a digestive disease. I only eat because I have to. The BRAN diet helps with the runs if you can eat those foods with your Chron's. Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Bread. Try small and frequent meals even if you need 5 or 6 meals per day.

I was at 3 packs a day and started vaping... I went with 36 nic to start with. I dropped the nic levels and found myself vaping all the time ( way too much) and going thru too much juice. I went back to 36 nic... 100ml lasts me 4-5 weeks...
seems there is an issue with new vapers who start out too low on the nic and try to stop smoking all at once...
either raise the nic to about 24 to help with the cravings or be a dual user... have the ciggie when the cravings hit hard, but smoke about half of it instead of all of it and swap over to vaping for the rest of the moment... if there is a shop thats local that can make in house juices, have them make up a straight VG and nic juice ( no flavors) and a straight PG and nic juice ( no flavors)... try the VG juice for a couple of days and see if some of the symptoms become reduced... try the PG juice and watch for any symptoms to occur... determine if the VG or PG has a distinct effect on your system...
and btw.... vaping does not cause dehydration... it just makes your mouth feel dry... so no need to guzzle gallons of extra water because you are vaping....

I agree with some of the other suggestions, I would get a higher nicotine juice. I was also at 1 1/2 packs per day and started with 24mg nic. Just as @Bunnykiller suggested play around with the VG/PG ratios. You might be sensitive to one or the other. And you may just be having cigarette withdrawals too. It is not an easy thing to quit the cigarettes even though you're getting the nicotine. Also don't beat yourself up if you slip and need that cigarette. I would still have that first one of the day while I was trying to quit(that was the hardest one for me) Takes time, patience, and perseverance. Stick with it and good luck.

You guys n gals are awesome sauce. r7 joint pain has been apart of my life since dx'd with Crohn's, then got worse with ms. Doesn't really bother me too too much

I will definitely get the plain pg and vg ratios and see which ones work.

I don't beat myself up if I slip it's just the disappointment in my hubby's eyes I hate. He's doing so well but he goes through TONS of juice, So we'll up the nic

Thank you so much. Now I have to go deal with elitist asshats in real life LMAO
