Help out a noob :)

Hi; i've been vaping for a while with e-cigs, but recently i tried out a rda with a mechanical mod and I need to get one! I don't know which one was, but the owner told me that they sell the rda and the mod separated, and probably will have to buy the charger separated as well. I'm looking for a good kit (good clouds, performance, taste and durability) i don't care much about the looks, but it is a plus i would't mind having.

Any recommendations on that to buy? (hopefully something under $100 USD including everything i need to buy) please be as specific as possible as I have no idea of which parts i need to buy (even better if links to where to get them are included) Also i don't mind if its a clone or not as long as i get the best bang out of my buck (meaning if a 100 USD high end clone is better than a low-mid end 100 USD original its ok with me).

I just need a detailed list of everything i need/should buy, dont want to order it and then find out i needed to buy a charger or what ever that wasnt included and i assumed it was, or didnt even know.

Thanks very much, looking forward to get good responses :)

PS: i recently learned how extremely customizable they are so feel free to add piece by piece what i should buy. thanks again :)

I recommend you start with an education. Here is a post (with many links) from Baditude (our battery/safety expert).

Battery Basics for Mods contains a list of recommended high-drain IMR or IMR/hybrid batteries for use in a mechanical mod.

Deeper Understanding of Mod Batteries describes what an IMR, IMR/hybrid, and ICR battery are. Explains what the letters & numbers mean on batteries.

Why is the amp rating important when choosing batteries for a mechanical mod and RBA? Explain It To The Dumb Noob: Ohm's Law calculations

Information Resources for Your First RBA An essential read and referrance guide for someone new to rebuilding coils. Includes a multitude of useful links on battery safety, mod safety, coil meters, coil building, and the differences in the three types of RBA's.

Purple Efest Batteries Not As Advertised

Concerning battery chargers: Any charger from Pila, Xtar, Nitecore, or the Efest LUC will be appropriate for your application. The more money you invest in a charger, the more features you'll get. Considering that batteries are the MOST IMPORTANT investment you will make in your vape setup, it makes sense to use a high quality charger.

The previous recommendation of reputable vendors to purchase batteries and chargers are highly recommended to avoid getting counterfeit batteries, which is a growing problem.

How to Spot Fake Sony Batteries

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

Yeah I second Susan's advice. Building coils require knowledge of ohms law. How your atomizer resistance will coordinate with the volt output of your battery (mod). Start with Baditudes Blog on batteries, it's an essential for all vapers. "Deeper understanding of Mod batteries" I read it twice the first time I decided to get into sub ohms builds.

Also understand that RDA's are used on Mods generally. There really are no 'kits' for RDA and mech Mods if that's what you're trying to get in to. Kits are for kids.

Rebuiladables and mods is an advanced level of vaping and require greater knowledge than a basic eGo.

hey, thanks, i already read susan's links, and i know there are no "kits", when i said kit i meant the complete set of what i need (battery, charger, atomizer, etc etc etc...) i said kit since i dont really know all the parts, and i would like an advice on what to get to get started and be able to vape with it until i get an even better understanding and customize it to my needs. i just dont want to buy the first thing i see and then find out i wasted my money. :) i just want a little guidance for buying the 1st of all i need

I would start by reading everything you can in the rebuildables section then talking to someone you know that does it safely about how they do it then look for decent batteries like aw, Sony, or lg then I recommend a nemesis clone by hcigar to keep it cheap but good then the dripper is personal preference but when you build it go with one ohm to start since that's the easiest to do safely in a mech with decent performance and you will learn how to wick properly one your comfortable you can sub ohm if you wish but make sure you have a good ohm meter or digital multimeter.

All good advise. When it comes to mods, clones are all different. Look for something that has good continuity. Copper and brass are good. Read the product description about the contacts. Again copper is good. Remember you get what you pay for. Lol look for the higher quality clones. You pay a little more but it's worth not having a headache of a failing mod.

well generally I recommend that people start with a affordable VW/VV mod when coming up from an ego style vape. A vamo v5 or MVP 2 is a good place and will get you familiar with how volts and watts affect your vapor production while still having the safety features of a electronic regulation. Buy good batteries as this will carry over to when you decide use Mech mods. I recommend a sony vtc4 or any of the ones on Baditude's list. The nautilus mini tank is a great tank for your VW/VV and the bvc coils perform well at 14 watts but can be pushed to 20 if that's your cup of tea.

P.S. buy a nice charger too. You can get a nitecore i2 charger on amazon for like 10 bucks.

Hi, thanks, the problem is i dont know anyone who knows about this, i live in the dominican republic, this arent really popular here yet, i would probably be one of the 1st to own one or to even know of their existance. And ive been reading about them, but is like a 4th grader studying differentials, im so new at it and have SO little experience with it (1 puff from a stranger in a supermarket) that i dont really understand much. thanks for your reply :)

No one has really given you a straight answer. So I will try. If you want a good setup for an RDA and a mech setup I would recommend grabbing a CLT by infinite for The RDA and a nemesis clone. There a ton of good clones out there. Then, spend some time on you tube. Shouldn't run you over 80 for both. Go online and search some videos on building a coil. RipTrippers has some that are for just basic coil building. Grab good batteries for sure though. Everyone on those videos is using a high amp battery like a Sony vtc 5 and this is a major area you could screw up on. So, be careful or just buy a nice little vv device like the vtr and learn from it first. But dont go nuts and try to build a quad coil build your first time running and you'll be fine. Keep it simple and look into a vamo or something if the idea of a mech scares you. Everyone here talks like you will surely die if you use a mech mod and RDA without knowledge. Bottom line is though, know they can be dangerous and if something seems wrong or you're battery is getting hot or something, chances are you are doing something very wrong. Put it down and do research. Post on here and hope people don't bash on you too bad because everyone here is of course gods gift to vaping and out to save the world from their inferior knowledge base. But, chances are, they'll point you in the right direction nonetheless if you can tolerate it. But know that you should vape what YOU like and brother if that means a mech mod 2 months in then I say go for it but be safe smart and patient. Vape on my friend!

Start with a clone, my experiences with EHPro and HCigar have been good but my favorite clones so far have come from Tesla. I have a Nemesis clone by Teala and I LOVE it. As far as rdas go, watch some reviews, see what sparks your interest, and see who makes a good clone of what you decide on.
Only buy good 30 amp batteries (sony, efest etc.)
Get a good charger.
GET AN OHM READER lol
Only use organic cotton.
I always buy kanthal from kidneypuncher, it's pretty decently priced.

Binge watch youtube too lol.
I pretty much learned how to setup a mech before I bought one watching rip and grim lol.

Happy vaping.
