Help Please - eGo T 18650 will not fire with new tube but will fire on old tube

I have a friend who i got started vapeing a month or so ago and she bought an eGo T 18650 pv. She also bought a couple of extra tubes in different colors. The head fires just fine on 2 of them but will not fire on the 3rd and she asked my help on it. I have tried it with several different length batteries, protected and IMR, have tried LR and SR cartos as well. It's not the head as that works fine on other tubes.

Here is what happens, when I insert the battery, the switch light blinks 3 times. I tested the 510 connection with a multimeter and it will register 3.4v and the button lights up while depressed. Once I attach a carto, I press the button and it blinks 3 times and does not fire.

I removed the spring and bent the bottom leg down a touch to make sure it is making contact with the bottom of the tube but it made no difference.

I am stumped. Any advice?

I have seen this on one other ego 18650. To fix the problem I had to remove the bottom cap and remove the glue then reinstall is as a pressure fit only. That fixed the problem on that one. Take a long screwdriver, insert into the tube, take a hammer and punch it off. You should see the glue on the cap. Just scrape it all off and reinsert the cap. See if that works for you.

Thanks TTK, I will certainly try it. I took the spring out again and sanded the bottom of the tube and the bottom of the spring but it didn't help. Going to get a hammer. I should have remembered the handy mans law, 'If a hammer won't fix, it ain't broke!'
