Help Please....Liquid Questions

I have a new 510, my first e cig. I have had it for 5 days now. The carts that came with it worked great. Pleanty of vapor for a long time, just as advertised. I purchased more juice from Liberty Flights. I like the flavor much more, however the hits and the vapor only hit well for about 5 to 10 hits and then I have to refill the cart. I am cleaning the cart fully and washing and completely drying the carts and inserts. I am also filling the cart with the max amount of liquid about 10 to 11 drops.

Can anyone please recommend an e liquid that will produce a great amount of vapor consistently so that I can just fill the cart and vape.

Hi Sniff, I don't think it's your liquid. It sounds like your cart material may be burned on the ends not letting it wick right. You can "pick" the ends with a needle, it may help some or get some polyester sheeting at Wal-Mart ($4 for a lifetime supply) and replace it every few days.
Also, when you wash the material do you take a towel and put the material in it and "smush" out all the water? The 510 cart should hold 30-35 drops of juice when empty.
Try fluffing the material a little more, even if you have to trim some off. It never works like new after washing but should do okay.

Or do a search on tea bags and read how wonderfully the Lipton Pyramid tea bags work for restuffing carts. They are washable and reusable and wick really well. I've also noticed a bump in flavor since I started using them.

Did I hear you right? 30-35 drops per cartridge? I would like to know what kind of carts you are using on your 510. I have been putting about 10 drops in mine and they seem full. Could I be underfilling and not letting the liquid soak in? Please let me know.

Yes, I am washing the insert and putting it on a paper towel and smooshing it till dry and then let air dry over night. I also just read the thred on using the Poly Fill from Wal Mart or Craft Stores in the cart.

I thank you, and I will try that tech. I love the vape it is simply frustrating at this point when I have to top off after 5 or so hits. Thanks again.

Also...are there other PG Liquids that do produce more vape than others either brands or flavors?

VG liquid makes more vapor. there is a video of someone putting 40 drops in a 510 cart. I'll try to find it for you. the problem is that when you drip the liguid it doesn't let air out of the cart and cant soak in fast. A syringe works best for the 510, you insert it in the cart and fill from the bottom up so the air is forced out.

What I usually do is once the insert material is dry overnight I will take the empty cart and drop the liquid in first maybe 6 to 7 drops. Then push the insert material in and pull out again after flooding int and turn it upside down and reinsert. Then I will top off with about 3 to 4 more drops and mash it down and pull out a bit then level off. It looks completely full and air passes. I just only get 5 good hits then nothing.

He just pokes a hole down the center to allow filling, it works but a syringe is better and a lot faster.

Ok, so I got new PolyFil and used a needle to help with the filling. Still not that much vapor after the first 5 hits. I also saw the vid on the guy putting 41 drops into his 510 cart.....Holy sh**. I do not know what to do. I have had the 510 for 5 days now and it is just not producing. Any more advise???????

I had the same problem when I was refilling my 901 carts. I was using the poly-fil for like pillow stuffing and such. What I was doing is putting in too much fill. Not allowing enough room for the liquid. For me it seems that if you put in just enough to hold the liquid in there, it works a lot better. Less is more. Also when you get done if you have some long ones sticking out of the cart don't stuff them in just trim it off with a scissor. Hope this helps.

I also only get 10 -12 GOOD hits on a fill of an average of five to six drops.I've had my 510 for two months now and have recently tried Fluval for my carts-works ok.I find the original stuff works best.

Ok, thank you for the advise. I will give that a try. And with the Polyfill, there where many dencities to choose from. Would I wand the Fluffiest of them? Or what? I will try to use less. I think that may be it, I see that the polyfill that is in the carts now that came with the cig are fairly condenced so......I will let you all know how it works out.

Maybe I should keep my mouth shut because I've only been using a 510 for about four weeks now. But I am shocked at people saying they can put anything more than 20 drops in a 510 cartridge. I think they are using something that makes MUCH smaller drops than what I am using.

And I also have come to firmly believe that a refilled cartridge does not work as well as a blank, fresh cartridge. I have rinsed my used cartridges until they are as white and pure as snow, smashed them on a paper towel over and over until there isn't a single drop of water in them, and even fluffed them up again so they aren't smashed in the least any longer. I have filled them with a syringe, a needle dropper, using a toothpick, and a paper clip. I have filled them halfway and the put the filler back in, and every other method known to man, including the straw modification. I have never gotten more than around 20 drops at most into them, no matter which method I use.

My opinion, and if it is only my opinion then so be it, is that resued filler simply doesn't work as well as new filler from a blank cartridge. And yes, I have a ton of blank cartridges and I have filled them many times and they take the same number of drops and they just simply work much better.

I hate disagreeing with everyone, but so be it.

I feel the same way Deadcat. I've tried them all -- washing, picking, straw mod, teabag, coffee filter, blah, blah, blah. I have decided the none work as well as a new blank cart. I can use one about a week then just pitch it and get a new one.

I would say that you are probably correct in your assessment, however, I really don't notice enough of a performance drop-off to worry about it.........I am referring to 801 carts and there may be less of a performance drop off with the larger carts like the 801, it may be more pronounced in the smaller carts.....

If true, then I think I notice it more than anyone else would.

First of all, the 510 sucks up the juice.
Secondly, I vape exactly like I smoked, which is only on breaks outside.

So I don't use it at all for hours, and then I want 10 big lung hits within about 10 minutes or less.

Even with a newly filled blank cartridge I don't get good enough wicking.
But with a refilled used cartridge, it gets significantly worse for me.

In essense, I have switched to dripping with the 306 atomizer and the 510 manual battery.
This is working very well for me, under my circumstances.

But I still use the blank cartridges for weekends and when I'm out drinking.
Because then I vape more like most people here seem to, one puff here and there as needed.

sniffles.....I am going to stray a little off topic here and mention that the M510 is a great device for "direct dripping".I have had mine for a couple of months and never used carts at all.The throat hit is much better for me without them,and the sealed batteries protect the liquid from entering and causing harm to the battery itself.The only argument I can see to dripping is the fact that you have to do it more often because of the burn-off of liquid.I will never pick up another syringe as long as I continue vaping!Try it you may be surprised!The Wiz!
